The Tummy Section, Jail Road — Restaurant in G Block

Every once in a while you come across a place which is completely mind-blowing. Well The Tummy section is one such place!! Located in the food hub of West Delhi - 'Jail Road' and amidst stiff competition it holds it's place. My friends had been asking me to visit here for long but I never had the chance. But after I came to know it's the highest reviewed place in jail road, I thought it was high time. And boy, was I surprised!!

It's adjoining to 34, Chowringhee lane and opposite to King's Kulfi. You might miss it amidst several outlets so better look for the other two outlets I mentioned to locate it conveniently. It lacks any proper decor as such but the lighting seems soothing and they have a few photo frames mentioning their features in newspapers and Zomato review certificate. It surely adds to their credibility. It lacks any seating arrangement, but it has a few tables where you can have your orders. It's always buzzing with customers, most of them having it in their cars or take away the orders.

After much thought I zeroed in on #Chicken shawrama, #Chicken egg rings, and #Creamy chicken lollypop. I opted for take away to relish the meals at home. The packaging is excellent, the boxes kept food warm, they look fabulous and the presentation is top notch for everything. #Chicken shawrama was aptly cooked with good amount of minced chicken in it. It tasted great with the mayonnaise dip provided. Next I had #Chicken egg rings, which is such an innovative dish I never had earlier. Egg whites are used to form large round rings and center is filled with minced chicken mashed with some veggies. Trust me this is something you can have daily and not get bored of it at all! ♥️ Totally a wow item. Finally I had #Creamy chicken lollypop; well how to praise it! I have had chicken lollypops of atleast 150+ places all over India and this would come right amongst the top ones for me. Such crunchy outer, but juicy tender insides which are cooked to perfection. They are smeared with mayonnaise all over which makes the taste heavenly to say the least!! 😍 The bill came to around 350 bucks which is a pretty good deal for that they offer.

The staff is great, polite and answer any queries that you have. Service is on the slower side; they took lot of time for my order and much to irritation gave orders to few other people first who had come after me just because they wanted just Shawrama rolls. Good news for veg lovers as they serve #Paneer Shawramas​ too, which must be good as I saw lot of people ordering it. Also, I asked if they home deliver and they casually said they would if the order was around 800-1000, which sounded a bit steep to me unless one was having party or a function at home.

THE GOOD: #CHICKEN SHAWRAMA ROLL, # CHICKEN EGG RINGS, # CREAMY CHICKEN LOLLYPOP. WIDE VARIETY AVAILABLE IN MENU FOR DISHES. STAFF IS HUMBLE AND POLITE. TRIED TAKING A PEEK IN THE KITCHEN WHICH LOOKED QUITE CLEAN TO ME. FABULOUS PRESENTATION OF FOOD. GREAT PACKAGING IF TAKING AWAY YOUR ORDER. PRICING IS VERY REASONABLE FOR THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY.

THE BAD: NO BEVERAGES OTHER THAN A FEW COLD DRINKS. LACKS SEATING ARRANGEMENT. HOME DELIVERY SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO AND IMPROVED FOR A PARTICULAR AMOUNT IN THE DESIGNATED RADIUS.

It's A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE not to be missed at any cost!! Deserves all the praise and accolades it's been getting from everyone and which I did too. These are the places which are only a handful in the city, very well worth your time, money and long drive to the outlet if you stay far away from here! ;)

I was in the neighbourhood for some official work, when I notices a sea of small food outlets on the jail road area. The only name I could recall was Tummy Section as I knew they were popular for their lip smacking Shawarma. They started as a joint selling only Shawarma's way back in 2009, and are still. One of the most affordable places in the vicinity.

Located on the main Jail Road close to the Tilak nagar metro station, this small hole in the wall kinda outlet was easy to recognise from their neon signs. Situated next to papa Chinese and 34 Chaurangee Lane outlets and opposite Flirty momo's, this outlet only has a outdoor seating for 8 pax. Parking can be an issue but they have engaged a parking attendant to tackle the issue.

I had to Start with their signature dish the Chicken Shawarma, followed by a few recommendations by the young owner of the restaurant Yash. He was very helpful guy and made us try some unique and offbeat dishes keeping the Shawarma filling as the core ingredient, until our tummy section was full.

#Chicken Shawarma- their very own version of a Lebanese Shawarma which had spicy minced chicken filling in a thin Pita bread served with mayonnaise and a sour cream dip. The proteins were fresh and juicy and very flavourful. No doubt they serve one of the best Shawarma (chicken roll) in west Delhi.

#Ramly Chicken Burger(Egg) - a very off beat dish, the same spicy minced/Shredded Chicken along with mayonnaise wrapped inside a thin omelette and placed between burger buns. I must say I was impressed with this tasty innovative idea.

#Spl. Chicken Egg Boat- also called the gym lover as it's an overdose of proteins. Two boiled egg whites (minus the egg yellow) with the filling of the same spicy minced chicken (the one they fill in the Shawarma), topped with Sauces. Another out of the box dish, although I feel the Sauces won't go well with the gym lovers, nevertheless a fantastic one

#Spl Creamy chicken lollipops - deep fried crispy chicken drumsticks covered in a layer of cream, all I could taste was the cream as the chicken was submerged in the dip. Too creamy for me.

Overall a very pocket friendly outlet, with great quality food and brilliant service, although I had my food in the car ,the food items kept coming in one...
