9pm Bar and cafe — Restaurant in Goa

Scam alert: here is a bar that defines why Goa's reputation is going downhill, being known more as the face of calculated fraud, rather than of proper nightlife.

Stray dogs, cows, zero crowd, and trance music echoing through what feels like an abandoned bunker — but hey, the real party....is in the way they rob you.

We called 30 minutes before arriving. “Fully redeemable cover charge,” they promised. Fast forward to the bill and suddenly it’s “entry fee”. For what? The privilege of sitting in their sad excuse of a venue with four lost waiters and a manager that is desperate for extra money that they ain't definitely getting from the animals at their entrance.

They thrive on lies and bait-and-switch tactics — because clearly, the only thing they can’t afford is integrity. They spread misinformation and when things get to the real part of bill payment, change their tune and gang up by saying these are "entry fees only" for a place with no event, no vibe, just aggressive staff ready to argue and scam because they know damn well no one’s coming back voluntarily, other than those animals they have near their entrance to greet tourists. They even told us at the end, that it is our fault that we didnt record our calls, so that there was proof (gee, thanks for the heads up, we never knew such precautions depsite calling them way ahead of time to avoid such confusions later on).

This place isn’t a club — it’s a con with a playlist. Avoid it like the plague unless you enjoy being scammed by...

Poor experience. Their security team exhibits unprofessional behavior and discriminates against Indians. Despite being in the same country, they fail to show respect toward fellow Indians. The security personnel or gatekeepers also shame individuals based on skin color.

Update after reply from owner: Whatever you mentioned in your reply is baseless and false. For your information, I don’t drink, and I was completely sober and fully conscious. I did not misbehave with your guest in any way. If I had, I wouldn’t have written this review because that would have been my fault. Your response seems scripted and insincere. Also, you didn’t ask me to leave—I left your place because of your uneducated and rude staff. This shows you replied without knowing the reason. Seem replied by digital marketing team I am gonna sue you for false claim, you need to prove it (with footage) on what basis you are saying misbehaving with guest ( m not chapri type of guy , look like security belongs from chapari community so you are covering up with false claim ) otherwise will take legal action...

I visited 9PM Bar in Palolem twice, and both times were an incredible experience! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Asif’s friendliness stood out—he recognized me and warmly invited me in while I was waiting for my friend outside, making me feel truly valued as a guest.

The atmosphere is fantastic, with great music that makes you want to dance and a diverse crowd that’s open to good conversation, no matter the nationality. The pizza I tried on both occasions was amazing, and I’m already looking forward to trying the biryani, as Asif suggested, on my next visit.
