One 0f the most Overrated Vegetarian Restaurants in Goa because We can admit it simply because cafe Bhonsle and Cafe Navtara are the only Vegetarian Options actually known to tourists etc when they Visit Goa. And are located at prime locations.
I'm rating it really badly because of our 5 time visit experience we've had here .
Food - i can't deny that when it started off , it was ok . Now they've turned miserable. You can check this . Order a plate of Medu Vada at about 10.00 am . And see how it's served . They'll bring it in like 5 mins and it's not even got just like a average warm. And they won't even warn you when you order it that it's going to be served that way ( That's not how we expect these in a restaurant that we pay an amount that they quote) Order a bhaji and see the saucer they serve it in . ( It has absolutely no depth and it's hardly even hot at times.) The gravy is more than the vatana , the chana etc etc. ( You'll be able to count it . And my goodness the under cooked hard vatanas on one of our trips. 😐
Service -The waiters are very slow , lagging and under trained . They don't even know the menu most of the time. Specially in the top AC section. In case the waiter that attended who attended and took your order doesnt show up and you need something as simple as a tissue or a spoon or a little chutney , the other waiters there will just avoid you and even avoid any eye contact to be called for any service.
Also Parking is another issues durinh peak timings so please be careful where and how you park .
Based on a comparison that we find in smaller local food joints that are not as fancy as this but at least they serve good food and quote a reasonable amount .
Hoping that if i ever visit them again , they will at least get better if not worse. I'll definitely...

Different Table and Attendant
19.45 plates tabled, however seems to be a premature strategy by the cafe management or the servers. 19.57 Identified that the table was settled with the floor properly, 20.02 Onions and Lemons served 20.03 Course served
20.32 Finished with the mains of Malaai Kofta and Veg Kofta.
Malai Kofta was originally ordered for my nephew to have the majority of, he didn't have much as usual (Quanity was great too), hence we all had a spoonful of it and loved it. The Kofta, however was sweet.
Veg Kofta as expected was on the little spicier side, spicy only to the pallet, which again is great. The Kofta in this one was an absolute delight, makes me want to try their Punjabi Samosa. We had this with Cheese Garlic Naan, again good. It went well with both the koftas.
Attendant#2 was very courteous, attentive and proactive. Even provided a kid sized cutlery.
Water serving seemed to be a persistent issue.
20:55 Falooda is not worth it, but the scoop of strawberry ice cream was of great quality. It literally had plain milk in a falooda, that should be declared a crime 😅
Overall, a great place to have your dinner or a fancy chaat session (Almost everyone else was having having snacks items such as PaniPuri, SevPuri, etc....
Read moreVisited Cafe Bhonsle twice. Food: 5 start review on both the visits. But .... As our first experience was amazing we went their another time on Sunday. But one of the staff member was repeatedly rude to us. We were two families with a kid who were being respectful, it was Sunday and it looked like the server was having a busy day and was rude to us without any of our fault. Firstly he tried to stop us to sit at the ground floor giving a lame reason saying we won't fit on the table (He was serving ground floor, which is very busy on a Sunday). But as the AC room on the top was too cold we came down to sit on the ground floor as we comfortably sat their the last time. We ordered a lot of food as we wanted to enjoy a lot of different dishes in GOA. He wasn't writing anything down and due to his crazy day he was confusing himself and ending up confusing us. Then abruptly just left in the middle refusing to take our order after making bad face, this embarrassed us. He then shouted from the corner I will send somebody else to take your order. He then came back to us after he was a bit calm down, but while taking order he again made faces and even tried to make fun of us by laughing at us. At one point he said are you from U.P. ? I thing Cafe Bhonsle is a great place which deserves people who love hospitality. Giving him benefit of doubt, the restaurant should also try its best to add additional staff on the weekends to reduce work load of their employees on busy weekends. I hope the restaurant will take this review in good spirit and make customer experience...
