Casa Playa — Restaurant in Goa

Just got back from a bitter experience. Having traveled to many places across the globe never in my life I have heard the so called parter of the place telling us to “ Get out” because we got frustrated with very poor service. Overly priced, very poor service .... most items in menu not available , starters come on table much before drinks, even a bottle of water took 20 min. We were told about u availability of items much later after the order was placed and this happened multiple times. The staff was apologetic saying the management has changed and are having issues. Not that the place was over crowded or even didn’t look under staffed but definitely something was wrong. Only good part ( one needs to give even devil it’s due) was food was tasty.

Towards the end after repeated issues we got frustrated and did get into a heated conversation with the staff. We paid the bill which we felt was over the top comparatively and we’re walking out and then this guy who called himself the partner suddenly makes an appearance and asked us to get out because we abused his staff. He didn’t even have the complete picture and shouted at us with attitude. Well ... all I can say ... wish him good luck !!

This place is at good location but what I didnt like is that they have put price tag on every table which I found very cheap marketing. We were given corner table but since it was in first row so its charge were 5k for the table. In that corner seat there were plants which blocked our sunset view so I dont know why they have kept 5k charges for that table. When we asked them to shift to next table which was vacant whole time we were sitting there they said its for 8K. So I didnt like the attitude only, that you have kept the table vacant entire time just that they wanted to give to someone who can pay 8K. After that next table was for 10K and then down below 25K as if some auction is going on who can pay more. Also music was too loud and pathetic because of which we could hardly talk. Waiter immediately took 5k from us the moment we sat on chair table as if we will run away. So in a way we forced to sit in this place until we could cross 5k bill and listen to that pathetic music. An evening to remember!!! I walked past this place and heard a music. It was Orville Richard Burrell voice, also popularly known as Shaggy! I walked into Casa Playa, telling my friend that the singer singing must be having a great voice. I somehow couldn't spot the singer then we thought it was just the music playing in the background. To my surprise, it was Venus, the guy with Shaggy's voice! What a sense of music and the talent of easily modifying his voice to sound like Shaggy. I extremally fell in love with his voice and his friend Celina who sang some real good stuff to make our evening even more memorable than it really was earlier!
