Karlton's Horizon Grill — Restaurant in Goa

Food here is absolutely yum. Went here for dinner to conclude a family day out. Place was recommended by a friend. It's very easy to miss while you're driving, but it's right on the main road, where it takes a turn to go to Vaddy Beach. Not a fancy looking place, compared to those around it, but the food here is really worth missing all that jazz for. We ordered the 1) CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP - Was creamy and thick and had a lot of mushroom, real comfort food. 2) CHICKEN STUFFED WITH HAM AND CHEESE (which i think was marked as a signature dish); and it was absolutely delightful. 3) PORK SPARE RIBS were yum, and this coming from a Goan is really saying something. I always am apprehensive to order ribs at new places because some places give ribs that are loaded with fat. But, these were really good ribs with barely any fat at all. And they were so well marinated and so good. 4) CURED RAW BEEF SALAD - never eaten it before at any other place. But it was delightful. It's like the sushi/sashimi version of beef. But more strongly flavoured with spices. Perhaps to take away the raw taste. Flavours might be a little strong, so would not recommend trying to finish this by yourself. Or leaving it for the end of the meal. But we are family of 5, and we split it and it was a great accompaniment to the others dishes we ordered. One of those places which u visit and wished there were more than 5 stars to give.

Try the beef stroganoff. It blew my mind. The tenderloin fillet was also just a class above.

If you lust for a beef steak or u live in a place where beef isnt legal rolls eyes this is your Amsterdam!!!!

The only criticism is that the sides could use a little improvement. The mash was just plain boiled potatoes (no butter or cheese or not even grated to add texture) and the veggies just plain boiled BUT the damn steak was so bloody (pun) good that it won't affect the rating.

A special mention to the staff, very classy, and well trained. Something you typically see in high end restaurants. Excellent service.

Update; After 4 consecutive visits here; I can safely say that this place is known for its beef and meats; they're absolutely stellar!!! Seafood here seems on par with the surrounding restaurants, it's not something I would really recommend u...

The streaks! A little pricey but definitely worth every rupee. The flavour, the way it's prepared. What I absolutely loved about this place is that I couldn't make up my mind between the pepper steak and mushroom sauce. I got both the sauces and they're perfect flavour wise. The jacket potato is a better option than the mash. The mash is.good but the jacket potato is more filling. The veggies are sauteed well. This is one of the best steak places I've been to. If you're a fan of steaks this is a must-try. I've only had the pork and beef steaks. This is my special occasion celebration place. If you have to celebrate, celebrate with good food!
