We stayed at Surf and Sands recently Sept 2025 and our breakfast was at Take5. The place has the same feel of elegance as the Hotel. The food is great. The music playlist is also great. not the loud music in your face kind of music, but lot of variety, rock, pop, jazz, blues, etc. all of which we loved. the welcome and service and friendliness of the staff is examplary. They knew about the food and the drinks they serve. The entrance is deceptive, it opens into a huge room. But cozy decor, different kinds of seating. There is a special room at the back where there is a stage, music band instruments etc. Evey weekend there is a live music program there and the musicians they bring are reflective of the elegance of the place. There were a fantastic Jazz band one weekend. 93 year old saxophonist. impeccable in his tones. may not be able to walk, but he could certainly play the sax to perfection. The wifi is needed in Goa and the hotel staff keyed in the password into our phones. We tried all the vegetarian options on the menu. They all were just great. The plance is not as expensive as some of the loud and very modern looking restaurancts in the neighbourhood. You want good food, great service, great ambieance, elegant, pleasant surroundings, Take5 in Goa is the place to go. Fine Dinein. yes, its run by the same folks running the Take5 chain in bangalore. so music is good. the owner makes sure the quality of music and ambience is maintained to the old world elegance that is missing from most modern places. You feel soothed the momment you step in. The collection of spirits also matches the ambience. There is a book collection and comfortable sofas if you want to spend longer time. The first day we spent almost 6 hours loafing around. enjoying the finger foods and bantering around. Its comfortable. Affordable, tasty,...

Read moreThis nice-looking place is a few metres from a busy main road to the beach, but a little hidden away. Even though there was live music in the restaurant, it was empty apart from us. Such a shame. It must get busy as there were about 15 staff waiting to serve, and the restaurant wasn't small. However, I enjoyed an excellent, spicy Goan Prawn Curry and rice. Quite spicy but with plenty of prawns in a rich, tasty sauce.
The music duo were good and gave the place some atmosphere.
