Okay. I'm gonna be straight. Don't go by the reviews you see here before mine. There's no Uncle Sebastian, and no Manas. That means no yummy omelette, or punchy masala chai. It's a different caretaker that handles the place. We believed the reviews, believed the 'Uncle Sebastian, and Manas' pointers, and got there. Yes, they'll arrange their car for you to be picked up and dropped at fares lower than those prevailing in the city. Until you reach the guesthouse, the management is in connect and will help you get there. However, once you get there, you're at the mercy of the caretaker. God forbid, if there's no water in the bathroom or you need any kind of help in the middle of the night, you're on your own, because, at night the caretaker's mobile number is switched off, and he's nowhere to be found. Neither will the management take your calls. We faced it. There was no water in the taps that night. And no one came to our aid. We used mineral water. One way, during the day the caretaker is helpful. But on the other hand, his attitude is rude, his hospitality is cold, there's no warmth in the way he talks. And at checkout time, he'll make sure, you get out, or he's gonna chuck you out. His attitude was really unpleasant. It's like, "I'm doing my job. You do yours." Don't opt for the breakfast- it's not worth your day. We didn't like it. Rather, start your day early and find your food outside. I noticed, apart from CCTV cameras, there really isn't any security. Even the gates aren't locked at night. The fittings in the room are kinda ok. A few electrical sockets, and switches were damaged. The washbasin tap was running even when closed tight. The cot was very creaky. And, the refrigerator was namesake. It doesn't work. The moment you open it, the light will come on. But don't get fooled. It won't cool. It's like a cupboard with a light. I'm not recommending this place to anyone until all of these are sorted out.
The bottom line: It's in Candolim, pretty close to be beach. You can choose this place on these grounds: i. you're looking for a stay that's close to the beach, about 2-3 minutes walk ii. you're not bothered by caretaker's attitude or behaviour iii. you'll manage your food on your own. iv. you're looking for just a place to stay, and you're not bothered by the amenities and...
Read moreRubbish service and room. I had booked standard room for 4 nights but had to vacate this place on 2nd day itself. After checking in, I raised complaint of stinking room and even broken toilet window pans (where anyone can shot inappropriate videos just by standing outside) and they assured me to upgrade to deluxe room at no extra cost. Next morning I handed over keys to help shifting my luggage in my absence. However after reaching back to hotel in evening there was no one on reception to assist. When I called the receptionist, they said me to take the keys of new room from reception table. When I opened the room, I was surprised to see someone else's luggage. I reached back to them and they said me to pick other room keys and again it was not my luggage. Then I waited for receptionist who came back after 15 min and said that your room was not shifted as there was a new check-in in this rooms. After lot of quarrel with receptionist and owner of the place I decided to vacate hotel immediately. The major concern is safety of one's belonging I.e. theft (as receptionist hands over other's room keys) and management who will commit something and for few extra bugs they issue your room to someone else. Will not recommend anyone for this place. Owner even deducted extra bugs which he settled after another round of quarrel. Please book on...
