An absolute gem of a restaurant.
A beautiful place tucked away in the corner in assagao. An old portuguese house converted into a fine dining restaurant with a better traditional decor and ambience... Perfect place, ambience and atmosphere.
Started Of With A Refreshing Rose Spritzer... For My Luncheon It Was Mutton Sukha, Malabar Parathas, Avail, String Hoppers..
Dessert Was Their Signature Delicious Chocolate Hotpot..
A very well curated menu consisting of a variety of delicious dishes such as for the starters coromandal prawns, kari patta prawns, spinach dal vadai, Mackerel Vadai mutton sukha, kuzhipaniyaram.. In the main course other than the usual basic sambar, avial, mixed vegetables, long beans poriyal which I call the basics the basics there were some some serious signature dishes such as slow cooked mutton with ashgourd, tamarind fish curry, crispy fried fish with tamarind chutney, pork belly chettinadu, vanaraja pepper chicken, prawn curry.. With delicious sides to order such as string hoppers, steamed rice, lemon rice, coconut pulao and not to forget in every South Indian menu curd rice.
Desserts consisted of chocolate pot, carrot halwa and lemon cheesecake.
True definition of fine dining. It's like being taken to Tamil Nadu and served up a feast.Served with love and care in earthenware, and one eats off a banana leaf on a bell metal thali.
The staff was very courteous and polite.
What a meal!!!!! I have to say I'm extremely satisfied with my experience here at Tamil Table.
A must visit restaurant when in the neighborhood..

Had a delightful lunch today at Tamil Table in Assagao with two of my close friends, and I must say—it was an unforgettable culinary experience rooted in the rich and vibrant flavors of South India.
From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and earthy aesthetics set the perfect tone for what was to follow. Every dish we tried was a beautiful harmony of tradition, taste, and texture.
We started with the Squid Chilly—a flavour-packed dish that struck the perfect balance of spice and tenderness. For mains, the Slow Cooked Mutton paired with flaky Kerala Paratha and crispy Dosa was simply soul-satisfying—rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection.
Vegetarians weren’t left behind either—Aviyal and Paniyaram brought comfort and depth with every bite. The coconut-based Aviyal was as authentic as it gets, and the Paniyaram were an absolute treat.
To end on a sweet note, we indulged in the Cheese Lemon Cake—zesty, creamy, and surprisingly light—and the traditional Payasam, which took us straight to a Tamil Nadu household during a festival. It was warm, nostalgic, and heavenly.
Truly, Tamil Table is a celebration of southern heritage on a plate. A must-visit in Goa for those who seek more than just food—for those who crave stories, spices, and soulful experiences.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly...
Read moreTamil table surely did not live up to its name. I would give a thumbs up for the effort they have taken on the ambience and crockeries, but if the food is not up to the mark, there is really no point.
The drinks were creative, for e.g.: where they tried to get rassam and alcohol together, with strong flavours of currey leaves, which gave it a very south indian touch.
For food, the non veg was alright. Again, one particular mackerel dish that we ordered smelt really bad and couldn't eat it at all. Prawns Chettinad tasted good though. Being a tamilian myself, I have had and made sambar all my life. We wanted to try a simple sambar rice served here which turned out to be one of the worst sambars I've ever had. Was super watery, huge chunks of vegetables which was difficult to serve and eat because it never really mixed with the rice well and wasnt flavourful at all. The waiter suggested, or rather, forced us to buy a basket of papad along with the sambar rice which is again not worth the money you put in. I mean, for the pricing they have out through for other dishes, a complimentary papad basket is something they can give to their customers. All the dishes are highly expensive and the quantity is not worth the money.
Tamilians should definitely not go here, even if you're craving for South Indian...
