Unfortunately I don't have enough pictures of the food we had and how it looked when it arrived. I usually don't put pictures of eaten food but this time I am attaching it to highlight how terrible their food was, not just in taste but even in proportion.
All the good reviews made us really want to try this place and even a couple we met on a walking tour recommended this place. Unfortunately it was nothing like what we expected or were led to believe.
The service was slow, the vegetarian options pretty less and the menu was overpriced. As an avid cook myself, I appreciate honesty when it comes to food. Simplicity is not necessarily a bad thing but when you make something sound fancy and high end only to make the customer feel like a fool, that's something I loathe.
We ordered a stir fry vegetable starter with what was described on the menu as some in house special sauce. What we got on the plate was some raw vegetables covered in a basic besan batter and fried and the dip was soya sauce with added sugar (it tasted like that) branded as the house special sauce. I also had a margarita which was bitter because the proportion of tequila in it was higher and hence it made the margarita difficult to even swallow. Plus it was served by default in a slush form without even asking me if I'd prefer on the rocks (which I do when it comes to a margarita).
We still didn't give up and ordered pasta in pink sauce and veg quesadillas with salsa. What we got was less pasta and more bell peppers cut in huge chunks which honestly aren't great to eat alone. I don't think anyone likes huge roughly chopped veggies in their dish unless it's a Greek salad or something. Moreover the sauce was more orange than pink and it tasted like nothing remarkable. I'm sure most people make better pasta sauce at home. And the salsa accompanying the quesadillas was a joke because it can't even be called a fresh salsa or any salsa of any kind! It's some chopped onions capsicum and meagre tomatoes diced and tossed together! So dry and so little in quantity, we practically ate the quesadillas alone and swallowed it by drinking water to combat the lack of any liquid sauce or anything to compliment it.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE IN THEIR SANE MINDS.
AN UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT and very much a pretentious place masquerading in the name of a fine dining restaurant when the food served is either inedible or below par in taste with the food you get at...

Read moreWe spent less than half an hour here. Visited because it came highly recommended but honestly, don't know what the hype is all about. The overall experience was so horrible that it ruined our day. We literally had a muffin to get the taste out of our system. The lady who greeted us was quite pleasant, she took our order for an ice tea, calamari and prawns and left. The drink came first and my husband took a long swig, and his eyes popped out. It had a super strong taste of ginger so we called the server and told him to check. He came back and told us this was ginger ale. No apologies at all. Instead, he tried his level best to make us have it, going to the extent of telling us that the drink would get wasted. Really? We said no thanks but hats off the guy's persistence, he came back with a drink and we assumed it was the ice tea. Imagine our surprise when, on being asked, he said he'd got the same ginger ale with some more soda. He had to be told firmly that we did not want that drink. Next came the food. I'm all for fusion cuisine, experimenting etc. but for us the buck stops at bland, half cooked food. The calamari was the most tasteless and chewy we've ever had. Tasting strongly of lemongrass, the pieces too were nothing like what we've ever seen. The prawns were still decent. We were so disappointed that we called for the cheque. They had added service tax which we told the guy was optional but he stood around and argued again. Hungry but not willing to Subject ourselves to anymore of this culinary torture, we left. And the best part was that while the guy came back to ask for desert and main course, no one bothered to ask why we left so early. Maybe it doesn't matter to them, but for us this experience was truly the 'black sheep' of our...
