I came for the Sunday brunch buffet and opted for the unlimited alcohol option. It was 3500 INR plus taxes. On the way in you will be asked to put your belongings through a X-ray machine. The lobby of the Westin is beautiful, airy and sophisticated. There was a koi fish pond which had an outdoor bar at the other end. The swimming pool was next to it so could be a bit noisy during the day with the kids. The Market restaurant is a good size and there was quite a few buffet stations inside and out which was a nice addition. The stations catered for all cold and hot options and many cuisines from Japanese, Chinese, Thai, western, Indian, salads, cold seafood & meats, grill seafood and meats. The dessert options was huge!! The food was ok but what you would expect from a buffet. I did get some fresh, raw fish and squid grilled but it was undercooked so I got a second plate and asked them to cook them well this time round which they did. I took full advantage of the drinks options and they had a huge menu that you could choose from. One page of cocktails and the other of spirits and wines. I certainly made my way through this and the staff were very accommodating to it. The cocktails were well made to my surprise and tasted pretty good. There was a live band and a duo of dancers that came intermittently throughout the buffet which was great entertainment. The service was good and plenty of staff around at all times. A enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon solo or with a party.

Around 3kms from Anjuna Beach, this restaurant is a hidden treasure trove for food enthusiasts and connoisseurs. You have to try this to believe me, honestly! The experience began with Vijay helping us with the check-in to the restaurant. This was quickly followed by Ankita escorting us through the buffet menu. She was remarkably our able guide companion for the whole of our dinner date (me & my wife). She and her team of colleagues helped us throughout the courses. In the middle of our experience, we were visited by the chef Raisinh (apologies if name is incorrectly spelt, but I do remember it wasn’t a usual spelling). The mocktails we were served with added spark to the moment. We both liked the hospitality and sweetness of the staff at ‘The Market’. If you happen to be here at Anjuna, best not miss this! This is amongst my top-5 dinner experiences, and the best as a couple.

Visited The Market on a Saturday afternoon, had the worst dine-in experience one could possibly imagine. We first ordered the seafood platter that took 40 minutes to arrive and it was missing one item. After bringing it to the notice of the staff we were informed by the chef that the squid item had to thaw?! And would be served later, which FYI was never served! All the other guests dining at the restaurant received their orders despite arriving after us. The fish in the said platter was vile, considering this is a coastal restaurant, we expected the fish to be fresh, it had a strong fridge smell and it was very stale. No staff bothered to enquire if the meal was good. Extremely rude service. They deserve a minus 1 star rating for the quality of the food and bad service.

  1. I had booked forest view room for 2 days but when I checked in, the view was urban or rather backyard view. There was no forest area. It was like fooling the customers while bookings as I paid extra for the view. Rather would have booked normal room or pool view.
  2. I had included dinner and breakfast in my booking. The food spread was vast but the taste was not upto the mark except for 4-5 dishes. Both the days the dinner and breakfast had only 4-5 best (taste) dishes rest all were not upto the mark. They should make use of Bain Marie rather than chafing dish at least for steamed rice and other rice dishes. The rice dishes like pulav , steamed rice etc had turned hard due to usage of chafing dish and we were not able to consume the same with any gravy.
  3. The staff and their service was best, no complaints with that. They were working non stop and even after working late nights they had a smiling and positive attitude towards their guests at breakfast in the morning. That was really appreciative and commendable.
  4. we had a very disturbing sleep (3.30am) on our 2nd day midnight due to neighboring rooms. There was continuous loud music/television and banging of doors and loud group talks at 3.30 am which continued on floor until I called reception but nobody answered my call. Then I finally called concierge and they followed up but it was already 5am by the time it was settled and our sleep was already broken and had a very tiring travel as we checked out same day.
  5. They took feedback from my husband with all the reviews they wanted a day before checking out. but after checking out nobody was interested in knowing our night experience. As we were getting late and there was nobody to take our feedback we left in hurry and I called later to tell them about our disturbing night sleep but they were not interested and hanged up saying ‘we will arrange call back’ and it’s 3 days but no call back. That’s the reason why i decided to give a genuine feedback....

The experience I had at The Market was absolutely outstanding. Pastries, food, drinks, breakfast- evening was of the highest quality. I was extremely impressed by the culinary team of Chef Arpita, Chef Abhitosh, Chef Sheru and Chef Rajeev. I'm sure there are some behind the scenes whose name I did not capture - but they deserve equal praise.

For someone who has an Asian palette, Chef Arpita made sure that I enjoyed regional favourites such as Thai Green Curry, Noodle soup and Chilli Tofu during my stay. Her hospitality capabilities are as bright as her pastry making skills. These dishes were brilliantly executed by Chef Sheru and other members of his team.

They were also brilliant at making sure we had the best local experience. Being vegetarians, it is difficult to enjoy a veg Goan Thali as it is a seafood-dominated cuisine. But Chef Arpita listened to us and spoke to her team about making authentic Goan dishes such as mushroom Xacuti executed brilliantly by Chef Abhitosh once again.

Such a brilliant experience on the whole. Thank you to the Westin staff at The Market for a...
