The hotel is in a very good locality. Just a few minutes from both Anjuna and Vagator beaches. A couple of minutes from the Chapora fort and the river. Since we wanted to stay in a calmer place than beaches like Baga or Calangute, this was the choice. There are a lot of good restaurants on the same street as the resort, some very well-known spas - Facial Bar, a police station too. So, yes. Locality-wise, it's a good place.
Hygiene is the next big pro. The property is very clean and very well-maintained. There's prompt room-cleaning everyday along with fresh towels and water bottles. The pool has consistently circulating water. The restaurant food is also very hygienic.
Room size is another pro. The room is quite spacious and is very comfortable for a couple. Equipped with a closet and work-table, patio furniture on the balcony and tea table and a work table.
Now, where it falls short: WiFi: WiFi was a big disappointment. We stayed here for 5 nights and had WiFi only for 5 minutes. The WiFi meant for the rooms will never connect. The one meant for the conference room will rarely connect. No amount of complaints will help here. For people who are looking for an unplugged experience, this might be a plus. But otherwise, it's quite dismal coz the resort is not in a very remote area. Coz, you can actually spot the WiFi network of the neighbouring property.
TV: There's a good TV. But the dish box had a lot of issues. Maybe this is an outlier. But during worldcup season, this was a real dampener. No WiFi and no TV was quite frustrating. We had to go the restaurant to watch matches.
The breakfast buffet: Albeit being quite tasty, was very repetitive. There should be more options. The breakfast menu is eegetarian - but usually, it used to be the same combo - Fruits, some flavour of idli, chutney, sambar, poha/upma, eggs.
AC in the room: We all know AC is a must in Goa. There is AC. But the machines are quite old. So, there's no "climate control". It just blasts dry cold air at full speed. The remote is helpless. So, we had a lot of issues with our sinuses acting up because of the dry nature of the AC. Again, maybe just in our room. But it was a concern.
They didn't offer us a water bottle on our day of checkout. I thought this was a bit frugal of them. We have spent 25k on the stay there and if they can't provide 20 rupees worth water bottles, I am not sure how much of a customer...
Read moreAfter booking I was told I need to pay upfront 100% of the fee via bank transfer. Normally this would be fine, but since it's Christmas and I'm a foreigner, the transfer would take too long to clear. So I was asked to come down to the resort and make the payment there. I did travel 1:30h to the place to pay with my foreign card. Despite knowing that I am foreigner with foreign bank card, they asked me to come down and pay, which it turned out impossible as their card reader doesn't accept foreign cards. They never confirmed the booking (as they wanted the upfront payment for that) but they proceeded on charging me 100% cancellation fee when I was unable to pay.. And I tried hard to pay! Do not use if you are a foreigner!!
Dear spazio, As a reply to your response which is full of lies.. No one ever told us they can resolve our payment after the holidays. That's an outright lie. All we were told by the receptionist at the time we were there was that we can try make a bank transfer, which didn't work for us to begin with. That was the very reason you asked us to come by and pay by card. Knowing I am a foreigner. I traveled 1.30h one direction to turn out that you don't accept foreign cards. Wasting 3h in total for that?
The reason we did not reply on the 26th is because it was too late! We notified you over phone that we have now booked a new place, since until last moment you were claiming no booking is secured with you since we haven't made the advanced payment! So naturally, we were worried we have no place to stay as of 27th and we booked elsewhere and we told you that...
Read moreI am currently staying at this property and here’s the review:
The only thing good about this resort is the location. Apart from that it’s one of the most compromising stays to be at.
As all the reviews have said, the locks are not of the best quality. It takes a lot of effort to open or close the door.
The rooms are quite old and stinks often.
They have no geysers in the room and no provision of hot water. I asked for hot water to a staff named Divender, he asked me to wait for 20mins. I called again to which he sent drinking water whereas I specifically mentioned him to send bucket water for bathe. His tone was very rude and aggressive. Manager is no where to be found. He again asked me to wait for 10 mins. So basically this stay is without the provision of hot water and they don’t have any means to provide you with hot water as it’s solar powered. Mind you, it’s rainy season in Goa, so you might need hot water for comfort. If it’s raining, solar powered geysers won’t work.
Apart from all the above, this is exactly the place where the scandal happened with the Delhi guy. Not sure who was at fault, but I can notice the rudeness of the staffs and definitely it’s not comforting. So safety wise, not sure if this is the best place to be at.
Additionally, I paid extra than MMT for a pool view room and they gave me a room in the backyard.
I have another day here, let’s see if the service is good or even...
