But of a mixed bag, bit of a shame, but having visited De Candolim Deck Restaurant twice in the space of 3 days, I’ve had (food wise anyway) two radically different experiences.

Visit 1 - summer salad and satay chicken skewers. No words other than AMAZING, sum it up. The salad at 250INR was a meal in itself, in fact i think as colourful, crunchy salads go (topped with peanuts and croutons) it was the best salad I’ve ever had. The chicken satay was gorgeous too, lovely pieces of tender white meat and a fantastic pot of hot satay sauce.

Visit 2 - chicken Caesar salad and a side of fries. Oh dear, I really didn’t enjoy it. The Caesar was spoiled by limp lettuce, hard grey looking chicken pieces and a total overload of a sickly tasting sauce that looks like it had been squeezed out of a tube of processed stuff bought from a supermarket. Maybe not but I know a Caesar when I see (and taste) one and this was really not a good effort. I hate leaving food, but half of it was enough for me. Whilst the fries were ok, they looked great in fact, there were far too many of them and they were lukewarm.

The service was impeccable both times, no complaints there at all, the atmosphere good, considering my visits were for lunch.

Prices represent excellent value.

I will visit again to see if the hit and miss experiences to date, make for a 5 ⭐️ food review...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at De Candolim Deck Restaurant and Bar, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a lively ambiance with live music, which added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.

One of the dishes I tried was the CHICKEN GARLIC NOODLES, and it was absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and had a generous amount of flavorful chicken. The dish had just the right amount of garlic, giving it a nice kick without overpowering the other flavors. It was a satisfying and well-balanced meal.

I also had the PASTA ARABIATTA, and it was equally impressive. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the sauce had a nice spicy kick to it. The combination of tomatoes, garlic, and chili flakes created a rich and flavorful sauce that complemented the pasta perfectly. It was a simple yet satisfying dish.

The service at De Candolim Deck was decent. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were prompt in taking our orders and delivering the food to our table.

Overall, my experience at De Candolim Deck was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal with a...

A Delightful Family Spot Near Candolim Beach!

De Candolim Deck Restaurant & Bar is a fantastic find for families visiting Goa, especially those staying near Candolim Beach. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a vibrant yet relaxed ambiance that suits both adults and children alike.

What makes this place stand out is how kid-friendly it is. The staff is incredibly accommodating with little ones—offering highchairs, a flexible menu, and a genuinely warm attitude that puts parents at ease. The menu has something for everyone, from Goan classics like prawn balchão and chicken cafreal to kid-approved favorites like pizzas, burgers, and creamy pastas. And don’t miss their ice cream and brownie desserts—a big hit with the younger crowd!

The restaurant also features live music on some evenings, which adds a fun, festive vibe without being too loud or overwhelming for children. The seating is spacious, and the decor is modern yet cozy, making it a great place to unwind after a beach day. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch, a lively dinner, or just a place where your kids can enjoy a meal comfortably, De Candolim Deck is a top choice. Highly recommended for families...

The food was great. The staff, though, was very rude. We very clearly asked them what went inside the sandwich we were ordering, and they assured us that it only had lettuce (which we asked them to serve separately and not inside the sandwich) and no other green vegetable. When the sandwich arrived, it had capsicum inside. We had to ask them to remake the sandwich with no capsicum as they'd failed to mention both in the menu and verbally that there would be capsicum, only for the waiting staff to start arguing on how we should have mentioned if we didn't want capsicum. This happened after they'd already sent 2 separate staff to confirm what we wanted to order, so we had repeated our order thrice by now. After the meal, we paid by card and even left a tip as usual despite the rude behaviour. Yet the same waiting staff who'd argued with us chased us down the street outside and demanded to see the online payment receipt, which we did NOT have because we paid by credit card. Not sure why a place recommended to us was this bad with their hospitality. Recommend the place for food, but don't be surprised if the staff takes out their annoyance with other things on you and ruins your morning.
