As anyone who has read one of my reviews knows I do my best to be fair and consistent. This is also my experience or a shared experience with friends or family and yours might be different. Read lots of reviews before you decide. Now to review: It was later in the evening, last night. We were close by and decided to go have some ramen. This is my first time going to this restaurant. We arrived and were sat quickly without a wait despite them being pretty busy. It’s simple and pretty on the inside, with seating around the bar and a small number of tables. It feels like a spot for good ramen. The server took a bit to come speak with us, but they were polite. We ordered the avocado salad, which turned out to be an avocado, cut open and refilled with avocado chunks, some random panko bits. The presentation isn’t a salad really but an odd idea. The avocado having been filled with chunks of avocado was sitting on a literal pile of salt. As in maybe a cup’s worth or more on this plate, with this refilled avocado sitting in the middle. It kind of looks like one of the egg pods from the Alien movies, and the wasting of salt seems so pointless. The dumplings were torn open and broken, and had little if any taste at all. The presentation was pretty though and the chili sauce was nicely done. The Tonkatsu shows up. The broth is frothy, odd but okay. The flavor tastes of oil or fats first. There really was no taste of spice, no savory flavor, no dimensions at all. The pork chunks looked like grey bacon, it was Grey! The fat was not rendered, and was supposed to have been pan seared prior to being dropped into the ramen. Instead it looked like they had boiled old pork chunks and old bacon. I have never seen grey pork before. That seemed scary as uncooked or undercooked pork can cause a myriad of food borne illnesses. I tasted the broth before seeing the pork coloring. The egg was soft and delicious but the rest of the bowl was inedible for safety reasons and taste. We sent back the avocado “salad” after one taste. We ate the dumplings, despite their condition. We sent the ramen back and cancelled the meal at that point before anything else came out. They did have good Kambucha. The staff was very apologetic, but having only been once I won’t be giving them a second chance. They gratted all of it and only asked that we write a review on their review sheet which they brought in the book that would normally contain the check. We didn’t ask for anything free, and I did drink the Kambucha and we did eat the dumplings. My fellow diner had been there previously with good results but consistency really matters in the restaurant business. Can you be consistently good over time? Can you make up for mistakes with dynamite main dishes or a great replacement app? This meal was sad. I was very excited to go and ended up disappointed. Worse yet is the food (possible) safety issue with the undercooked pork. Asian foods are among my favorites and ramen sits close to the top. Delhi is a wondrous city with wonderful food and great service. Some Of the best food I have ever eaten I have eaten here. The high note? I got to go back to Big Chill which is consistently good and apparently always has been. Their service is fantastic. Ingredients fresh, and their execution spot on. Their deserts are KILLER. Overall, we had a terrible experience with the food but at least we didn’t have to pay for it. I hope they read this and take a look into what may have happened last night.

Well deserved 2 stars. Ramen was pretty everage along with the bad atmosphere toward staffs, hence 2 stars. I went alone from meeting with just one wallet and phone. Dress typical since this is just a Ramen Shop not fine dining restaurant!! From reception who was like a valet bhaiya to the server specially the tall guy name D...V made me feel like I'm from a substandard class. Maybe I just came to have quick lunch without dressing up but believe me my country ramen shop is very typical. Come to "Ramen", not bad, and not that excellent. It is ok for Indian who doesn't know much about Japanese Food so I don't dig much. Understandable. But as a restaurant with a Japanese tone of hospitality, this place during dull period is so unwelcome. I won't come back. Ther is more options here. Management should look into your staffs before they de-value your brand.

So we entered this restaurant at 9 PM, on a Monday night, and planned to leave for a movie from there at around 10 PM, because we had a movie at 10:10 PM at Inox Nehru Place. We ordered 1. Edamame, Yasai chips, Tori paitan ramen and the fire cracker rice bowl.

No one came to take our order, we had to stop the server and ask him for a Diet Coke. Thereafter they placed the cutlery in front of us but didn’t get any sauces / condiments etc. They got us they chips at around 9:15, and then we waited and waited till 9:30 all while watching all the tables around us get served, finished their meals and even pay their bills. We then told the manager that we needed to leave at 10.00 PM. He said our food would be served in just five mins. Only the edamame was served after those five mins. After finishing the edamame, and reminding them for what seemed like the 1000th time we twiddled our thumbs and called for another Diet Coke until 9:55 PM. This was all while watching food get made and packed and put into brown paper bags, while our plates were empty not for a lack of appetite but lack of food and service. At 10.00 PM they came out with a bowl of ramen and let me specifically mention that the firecracker rice bowl still did not get served. But obviously we did not have the time to sit and eat it. So we told them to cancel the order take back the ramen and not serve the rice bowl (if they were ever planning to that is). We offered to pay for what we had consumed, and the manager shamelessly just accepted, did not even offer an apology forget about packing the food for us.

I don’t think I’ve had a worse experience in delhi. It was disappointing and disrespectful to say the least. The staff was rude and insolent and while the food may have been decent we could not taste and tell since it never came! We have eaten here before and liked it. But never ever again will we go here or recommend it to anyone else. We had to eat the vegetarian food at Inox after, which was tough for hard core non-vegetarians like my husband and i but the timely and respectful service made it exponentially better than the potential food we could have received at midnight at Mensho Tokyo.

I can’t even enter my inputs in the section below which says “what did you get” Cz all we got was edamame and Diet Coke, which we still paid around...

We visited last Saturday at 8 pm in the hopes of having a great dinner at Mensho, but to our surprise the staff was least interested in seating us or even letting us enter the restaurant. I asked if we could enter and the lady at the entrance said they have reservations for 8.30 pm. I asked alright, can we wait till 8.30 and see and if no one turns up we can enter? She said no right away. The lady claimed they don’t take walkins at all even though the restaurant was empty from 8-8.45 pm while we waited. I asked could we put in our names and they can give us a call if no one turns up till 9, she said she is absolutely sure that all their bookings will be honored and they do not have any slots available till the next day!! I was so surprised with her absolute arrogance to just not let us enter no matter if we wait or not. Even though no where in their instagram page is it mentioned that they would only honour bookings and no walk ins allowed, their attitude was really something they need to work on.

Mind you, we went to You Mee in the same market and when we came back by 9.45 their restaurant was still empty. I have no idea why they profiled us, if we didn’t look like the kind of crowd they cater to or is it that they’re just too lazy, but I’d never...
