1944 The Hocco Kitchen (Sayajiganj) — Restaurant in Gujarat

Utter disappointing experience and waste of money and how Havmor has made this eatery to fool around with people. This is the only outlet serving nonveg in baroda, but the chef needs a good tution class and also the waiter who takes order on how to cook/ take orders of nonveg. We ordered tandoori chicken, rubbish, the chicken was burnt till the last leg, and also seemed the chef dipped it in the marination gravy post our order and put the chicken to burn itself on the tandoor. due to overheat it had shrunken to a sparrows tandoor instead of chicken tandoor. And the most pathetic part. We ordered chana Puri, which shows 199 on the menu, and when bill arrived it was 325, reason being in hocco eatery which is downstairs you eat it's for 199, and if u climb the stair up and eat in dinein it is for 325, same bleedy thing is priced up and given...though it's not tat in eatery they r serving u with fans on, and in dine in with AC, the super old concept which resto in olden days had. Full stupidity and way to fool ppl out of their money. Pls shut down nonveg if u don't have the kind of chef to cook it. And stop fooling ppl by serving same stuff at escalated rates while serving in the same bleedy location. Hocco kitchen or popularly called Havmor Sayajigunj is one of the oldest outlet of this chain, maybe the first one.

It is the only outlet amongst the chain serving non vegetarian food. So, when you visit the place you have to specifically ask for the non vegetarian menu specially for the unlimited meals.

Havmor Sayajigunj brings back a lot of nostalgia and fond childhood memories.

The ambience is regularly upgraded and always pleasant. Cooling is also perfect.

Service maybe a bit relaxed maybe because of the old and loyal staff still working there.

Food is amazing, specially the non vegetarian dishes. The 'must try' dish is Boneless butter chicken. They have the best butter chicken in Baroda, or probably the best in the world.

Their menu claims that if they don't start serving within 10 mins of ordering the unlimited menu then the meals would be free. However, this didn't happen even though our order started late and even after our claim it was informed to us that it is old scheme and it is not prevelant anymore. The Hocco Kitchen aka Havmor is a Pride. A Brand. Many years of serving their customers who keep coming back.... However, it doesn't mean that one should shoot prices so high that they can't justify compared to equal and deserving competitions as well.

We dined and we know that the prices will not get us back again. Fresh lime soda sweet - 180rs ...??? I need not say more.

You can make out how the other prices could be. My advice - see them online first and decide first.

Secondly, the Butter Chicken (549rs!!!) was spicy for a Butter Chicken dish. The feedback was taken with a point conveyed to us that it is made to their majority customers taste. However they fail to realise that you can't change the authenticity of a delicasy but instead, you may do so only for certain cases to few individuals. That too who would want to change the essense of a dish in the first place?

Butter Chicken is never spicy by default. Period.

Ambiance is fine and normal. But Value for money is a complete No..Havmor...Have No More...Not anymore.....
