Café Venture Studio — Restaurant in Gujarat

As a customer I was humiliated and asked to leave the premises by the lady owner there on 23-Dec-2021 (Why mention today - on 13-April-2022 - read reason at the end)

I had done a meeting with a student there and I agree I had overstayed there by 15-20 mins after paying the bill.

I informed her that I had been a regular customer there and visited over 100 times there.

She said "I don't care!"

The staff there knew me well but could not say anything in front of the occasionally visiting owner, and of course an angry one at that moment.

One thing I would like to mention here as a career professional (I talk about careers and assist students in career decisions) here is that if you are in the hospitality service, you can never ask a guest to leave the premises rudely, more so if the customer is polite even after paying a bill and also after being humiliated. Being courteous and having patience is an essential requirement for being in this profession.

By the way, this is the first time in my life that I have written something so negative about someone. I will let go of my negativity after posting this, but I will never ever go to Venture Studio Café again.

Coming back to the reason why talk about it today - "I was researching about the hospitality industry and while doing so this incident came to my mind, and also just last week a friend asked me if this would be a good place to host a corporate event with almost 50 plus guests, my narration of this incident to him changed his views on hosting the event there.

So the important lesson here is "Never disrespect a customer, politely refuse service if the situation warrants it, but you may loose business and more importantly your reputation if you are rude and...

Having been a regular at this café near Ahmedabad University, I was deeply disappointed by my recent visit. What was once our go-to spot has unfortunately taken a sharp decline in quality. Under Miss Pallavi's previous ownership and supervision, this establishment consistently delivered well-prepared food that kept us coming back. However, my latest experience revealed troubling changes. The service issues began with significant delays on multiple orders, which would have been forgivable had the food quality remained intact. Sadly, the problems extended far beyond timing:

The toast arrived poorly prepared The pizza was particularly problematic—undercooked with unmelted cheese Several ingredients seemed to be missing entirely The fries were so unappetizing we had to return them Every item shared the same unpleasant taste profile Beverages were average

It appears there may have been a change in kitchen staff or management practices. Whatever the cause, the result was a wholly unsatisfying meal that felt like a waste of money. As a longtime patron who has supported this business throughout my university days, I'm saddened to say this will be my last visit unless significant improvements are made. It's a very beautiful & peaceful place... Just at the corner of HL commerce college 6 roads.. Good to meet your friends or colleagues, have some business meeting, read a book, or do your own work.. You can sit peacefully and spend a few hours if need be.. The menu & the food & okay, though service for food orders is quite slow.. Only 2 persons were seen as staff.. They took orders, they were the chef, they were the waiters, and they were the managers too..!!! The real problem is, the washroom they have is kept in lock & key and when you ask for keys they say they do not have it..!!! The reason they give is, that the place is run by university, and hence the washroom is locked as the university closes at 6 pm..!! So why do they run the cafe till night is my question..?!!! Such a large & beautiful cafe - not having any washroom facilities, in 21st century seems to be a fictional story, isn't it.??..!! So don't choose this cafe if you feel you may need a washroom to go.. Or else still if you are already there, insist strongly with the staff that you need the keys for the washroom.. After 10-15 minutes of insistance, they wil finally give you keys..!!!!
