The Characters: The 'Avengers of Ahmedabad Food Scene'; the entire 'League of Extraordinary Gentleman and Mostly Women' descended and joined hands to write helpful reviews. Each a legend in his/her own rights. Each blessed with the right mix of trained palate and writing skills. Each willing to go the extra mile for that small morsel of great food. Each had his/her unique share of a memorable dig or horror outing.

The Setting: A legendary meet like this demanded an equally legendary setting. Z.O.M.A.T.O had chosen well, and how: A 90 year beauty of a bunglow, Shantikunj is nestled quietly among the busy Paldi bylanes. Hear it breathe; see it live on. A timeless classic, this bunglow has it's own story to reveal: legends tell of legendary story that ages ago the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Nehru at various times frequented during the past. The owner, a very humble and generous man allowed the 'Amdavadi Avengers' their place under the starry night, and showed us around the place. A setting so legendary, how far can the food be? Fresh Roast is truly a breathe of fresh air from the new horizons of culinary delight.

The Fresh Roast Fare: Z.O.M.A.T.O has carefully planned everything and all arrangements were especially made for the Amdavadi Avengers including a specially devised menu wrapped in a red silk ribbon. The Avengers wasted no time and orders were shot right, left, center, up, down, everywhere ! Within no time our table was full with food n drinks. It all started with a refreshing mocktail. My particular was called Snake Bite -- and boy it sure was poisonous in a good way. In came the food, hot n piping -- Quesadillas, Saute Mushrooms, Jalapeno Cheese Wraps, Pesto Paneer, Bruschetta , Spinach and Cheese balls and Lettuce wrap salad. My favorite were the Sauté Mushrooms and Jalapeno Cheese Wraps from the starters. We later helped ourselves and powered on the mains including the Spinach Cheese Ravioli and Chaupita with Herb rice.

The End Credits: This was a dream come true for all the Avengers. We were treated like superstars by Z.O.M.A.T.O and the Fresh Roast team. The food was especially the best part ever. Going again? Hell ya. You bet...

Been here last night.

It was really a great experience being here. This place will simply make your day/night 10 times more awesome. Because it has got everything to do with exteriors as well interiors. The best part of these place was it's Shinning exterior one could not resist oneself from taking pictures out there. The lightings, the Aroma, the atmosphere and to add outdoor seating !!! 😍

Talking about it's Food, i would like to say one could fine few better options than these place when it comes to food !! The Food that we ordered was well prepared yet unsatisfying. It doesn't match our expectations at all !! We've had opted for continental food and when it comes to bread we weren't left out with any options other than plain roti !! We ordered naan as well kulcha but nothing was available other than Plain Roti (without Ghee) which wasn't expected at all. Even starter section was not upto the mark !! Jalapeno cheese balls are generally softer and easy to eat but in our case we were served with hardest form of jalapeños which wasn't even chewable !! Fast food section (pizzeria) was above average we loved the Aglio-E-Olio pizza that we ordered it was realllyyyy amazing. However, the main course that is sabzi section was also good. Just a lil bit of improvement is required in some of it's food section, other than that it's ok.

Providing so much of happiness through it ambience doesn't mean one has to comprise with food !! So definitely would love to visit these place once it's Food get's better.

We were tired and were hungry enough craving for good food and opted for it.

Entered their hotel around 9 pm, no one was there...waited if someone would come from the kitchen.. knocked the kitchen to inform the chef and finally a lady manager came from inside. Got us seated and went outside where I guess a celebration was going on of some 20-25 people. So all were busy and occupied there and weren't concerned about other people visiting. Anyways after 10-15 mins, we thot to walk off as no one was coming to take the order, the lady manager but asked us to be seated in the dining area outside now. Once seated outside, our order of lemon coriander soup and Mexican rice was taken. 25 mins and still waiting for soup, asked and were told yes it's coming now... kept waiting for 10 more mins, still a basic starter of soup didn't arrive. Finally after 4-5 reminders, 40 mins and the soup came and in the next 15 mins the Mexican rice. Wanted to order another dish, but didn't dare to wait another 30 mins for a new order. Though the food quality was awesome, I won't prefer to visit again since the service is tooooo slow. You will get your food an hour later on a busy wkend.
