ThatPlace — Restaurant in Gujarat

ThatPlace was my go to place everytime I missed having the American breakfast. Visited the one in VDR recently and below is what I have to say!

First statement just as I settled on my seat was "we don't have breakfast on the menu due to the lockdown and eversince" Firstly what is the connection? Did people stop eating breakfast during Covid crisis? Secondly it was a lie. The breakfast option was very well on the menu, just not being served.

A year down the line a restaurant can come up with a better explanation for not serving breakfast which is on the menu than the lockdown. On that note, how hard is it to update the menu? Digitally at least? Some of us travel a good few miles in the hope to have a desired meal only to you know, not have it.

I did have an alternate meal and it was satisfactory but again I finished and waited a good 15 mins for someone to show up at my table and ask if I needed something else. I did want dessert but because I had to now walk up to go to settle my bill I left and you lost that additional business of the dessert and coffee over and above adding on to my disappointment.

Covid is understood; I say if you operate, operate 100% or don't operate.

The 5 stars you got because of my previous experiences and other customer's chit chats that made me laugh despite my disappointment with everything else. I will not recommend until I revisit and see some...

This restaurant was on my favorite list. This time i was shocked by a staff greeting us with the information that they dont have indian food (it felt like they dont serve indians), only thai!! Though I give him the benefit of doubt, it was only to forewarn us that the food may not have been of our taste. It only reflects on the management. This is enough to cut their rating to a single 🌟 (5-4 🌟) just not doing that now

Multi cuisine with different option, like Italian, Japanese, Greek, which was not usually available in Vadodara. They can improve quality, was a ton better when they started. Yes, by more widely traveled standards, they need to improve too, they appears to be some cutting corners, Beware now Vadodara has competition. The prices are ok, but the quality and variety almost ok, the quality has dropped drastically, the vegetables were not fresh, hardly any zucchini or broccoli, replaced by cauliflower, even those were not fresh. And they say they don't serve indian food!! Update: we had a bad stomach the next day, undoubtedly the food is responsible, pl avoid the restaurant at all costs. A responsible restaurant cannot...

I am wary of the restutant, as they serve stale food. Even boiled vegetables were stale, it could not have been worse, it overrides all the food they served. Two of us had stomach upsets.

The welcome into the restaurant was a staff telling us they dont serve indian good food (it felt like they don't serve indians), he did not know where amritsar was. I am sure he had our best at his heart, it shows bad on the restaurant.

They have a good range of cusines and veg and non vegetarian food, but I have to add the 1st warning. When they started they were among the few that served such kind of food, it was excellent, the quality and class has come down, the prices may not have increased, be warned, now you have stiff competition, and you are loosing it. Replacing broccoli with cauliflower, that too stale!!! Come on!

The ambiance and service was good, but for the above.
