SWAD — Restaurant in Gujarat

Swad Family Resturant- As the name indicates the taste of food.Really love the ambience & the food quality & the respect for us from waiters & the owner.Food served within10 mins .We ordered-:

1. 1st masala papad-papad was fried & taste was awesome with the crunchiness sound in mouth along with the chaat masalas mixed with onion ,tomato, green chillies & dhania leaves. 2)Laccha paratha & butter naan- Both were crispy from outer side& soft from inside along with butter uniformly spread. 3)Manchurian Fried rice-Believe it or not this rice doesnot require any gravy to be eaten with it.It itself is so yummy with its nyc aroma of whole spices u will love to eat.
2. Paneer tikka masala-This gravy was full of soft small paneer pieces with a lovely taste of gravy.

On my recent visit to Vadodara along with my friend, we encountered a chance to have lunch at Swad. Its based at the Alkapuri Road, one of the best areas in Vadodara. It might be bit difficult to locate as there are way to many shops around and the sign board that they have put up on the road may me missed. The landmark would be opposite Circuit House. The restaurant serves both veg and non veg cuisine. Steps lead to the terrace situated on the first floor and few steps lead down to the restaurant from the terrace.

1. Ambience: restaurant is fully air conditioned. Comfortable seating available with sofas and chairs. Washrooms are clean. Wash basin is just outside the washroom.

2. Food: Ordered for fish masala (surmai), rotis, mushroom masala and dal fry. All were very well made.Though I was told surmai was served, it somehow didn't taste like it.

3. Service: Very good.

4. Price: Rs 600 for a good...

Swad restaurant located in Alkapuri is a good place for a casual lunch/dinner with friends and/or family. I had gone with my family. The service is good but not prompt. The tasty food here more than makes up for the lag in service. Good options for veg, non-veg and Chinese eaters. The starters were lip-smacking. The main course, especially Mutton Kolhapuri, was tasty The only thing they lack in is dessert section. They only had ice-creams listed on the menu but when we ordered for it was not available.
