I recently visited ABAR KHABO, expecting a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant visits I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we stepped in, things started going downhill, and I feel compelled to share my experience so others can be aware before making the mistake of dining here.

Extremely Slow and Unprofessional The first major issue was the service. We placed our order and expected a reasonable wait time, but to our shock, the food took a minimum of 50 minutes to arrive. And this was not a one-time issue—other diners around us were also complaining about the long wait times. It was clear that the restaurant is either severely understaffed or completely mismanaged. When we asked the staff about the delay, they just shrugged it off, offering no explanation or apology.

Rude and Arrogant Manager The manager at ABAR KHABO is hands down the rudest restaurant manager I have ever encountered. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot, and despite multiple requests from customers, he flat-out refused to switch on the air conditioning, saying it was not needed. This was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially given how stuffy the place felt. When asked again, he became defensive and borderline aggressive, which made us all feel very unwelcome. A restaurant that refuses to care about its customers’ basic comfort is not worth visiting.

Hair in the Food! Now, coming to the most disgusting part of the experience—the food itself. I ordered a chicken cutlet, and to my horror, I found a strand of hair inside it while taking a bite! This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hygiene standards of this place. I immediately brought it to the staff’s attention, expecting at least an apology, if not a replacement. However, to my disbelief, the manager did not even bother to apologize. Instead, he dismissed it as a “minor issue” and acted as if we were making a big deal out of nothing.

Avoid at All Costs! Given the unreasonably long wait times, the extremely rude manager, the lack of basic amenities like AC, and the complete disregard for hygiene, I strongly advise against visiting ABAR KHABO. There are plenty of restaurants that serve great food with better service and proper hygiene. This place, however, fails on all fronts. If you value your time, money, and overall dining experience, do yourself a favor and avoid ABAR KHABO...

The experience i had with this outlet was very bad . Hoping that we will be served authentic bengali food me and my two friends went, the ratings doesn't justify the food and the staff behaviour. We ordered for a fish cutlet, fish thali, mutton thali and chicken thali, apart from the cutlet nothing was good Even the cutlet does not justify the price The chicken or mutton in the thali was just one piece with a piece of aloo and also it was full of liquid like its cooked in masala and water only I wont deny the fact that the meat was tender but the taste wasn't good We paid 400+ for each thali which was not justified and if we ask for something extra apart from rice it will be chargeable in the thali I cant write everything in details but the dal was also cold, the serving of the aloo bhaja was just a spoonful. I mean it was a very disappointing experience If we talk about the staff behaviour it was not good at all We went to the restaurant around 9:30pm and even the snack was not served before 10:40 So basically the staff claims that the customer has to wait because they serve everything fresh and good taste and as he said we hoped for a better taste but as i already wrote it wasn't good When we entered the restaurant not even a single staff was in the restaurant, we waited for more than 8-9 min to give the order and then the attitude was also not that welcoming But thats fine i don't expect that And after giving the order when we went to him to ask him how long is it going to take for the order to come He gave excuses that its cooked fresh this that We really thought that the food will be good cause the rating was good and the wait time was unexpectedly long But the food was a big disappointment Before leaving the restaurant the staff asked us how was the food and we gave the feedback accordingly and his reaction was nil , he didn't even said that we will work on it or something Anyway to the person reading this review/experience i just want to say if you don't want to spoil your mood do a better research before going to any restaurant even if has good ratings . And they don’t deserve the rating it...

I visited abar khabo outlet at baani square. There was one waiter who did not greet properly and seemed dumb to customers who have come happily to eat at their restaurant. We sat down and we decided to order food, then the man standing at the cash counter looked at us blankly. He didn't even had the basic courtesy to come up to our table and ask for our order. He stood adamantly at the cash counter and still I have been to many restaurants and This was really absurd. I told my order to him and asked him personally to come up to the table and view the menu to take order so that he doesn't make any mistake. We were not even asked for water there on insisting the waiter gave us water most disinterestedly. After few minutes, the cash counter person told us the order and we noticed that 2 of our orders have been taken down wrong. It's okay to commit mistake but we even showed you the menu card and told and he had no notepad to take them down and he eventually goofed up. Then in such general cases waiters come running to the customers apologise and immediately work towards editing the right order. But this man stood at the cash counter looking at us adamantly that again we come up to him and tell him to edit our order! What kind of audacity and disgusting behaviour is this..! I've never seen such a pathetic restaurant with dumb waiter services. Such a disheartening event it was. I felt bad and got up and said to cancel the order and he didn't move his feet from the cash counter. All he stood there like a fool looking at customers going away sad. He was extremely discourteous and ill mannered as I went away and he did not even bother to come up as if it's was all our mistake here! Even if this restaurant is the last on planet I would not prefer to come here. Horrible service and will never recommend anyone. And as in Bengali we say (kono din aar ekhene khabo na). Very...

Being a Bengali and spending a lot of time in Bangalore I felt a lot of Bengali outlets here are overhyped. Had tried a few outlets recommended in the famous groups but ended up with an experience of insects in 3 of them till I found this place. Have been a regular on and off with dine in and online order and this place 90% of the times has never disappointed me(10% is the time taken to prepare food since I was in a hurry). Walk in to the outlet to experience a neat well stacked dining space with no super frills. Have been to this place atleast 6 times and had to WAIT(coz good food needs time to prepare). This review is of my last visit when I was with a veg friend. Started off with my favourite veg chop which needs time to be crispy and was served with an accompaniment of salad and kasundi.Ordered another starter-peeyaji which is as the way I used to eat at my home. For the main course went ahead with the aloo bhaja(being a fried food lover) cholar dal, rice and mixed veg(labra). Unable to hold my carnivore craving ordered Katla maach bhaja which was done to perfection. All in all a good meal which being in a restaurant felt at home. And Sujoy is to the point when you ask him what to order since he knows in out of what he has in his menu(do ask for suggestions from him). The total burn was 1290 and given we were over stuffed and in GGN felt decent. My suggestion-a must visit once which will make you regular

If you're craving the rich, flavorful taste of Bengali cuisine in Gurgaon, **Abar Khabo** is the place to be! I visited this nice, cozy restaurant on a rainy Sunday today, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for a soulful, indulgent meal. ### **Ambience & Vibes** The cozy interiors, with subtle Bengali-themed décor, music that instantly transported me to the streets of Kolkata. The sound of raindrops outside, paired with the warm lighting inside, created a magical atmosphere—ideal for a relaxed, hearty meal. ### **Food Experience – A Flavorful Journey** We started with **Fish Paturi** and **Fish Cooked in Mustard Curry**, Paired with **.Rice and Aalo bhaja**. We concuded the lunch with **.Jaggery Ice-cream** and a nice **Paan**. ### **Service & Hospitality** The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the homely vibe. On sunday largely it is Buffet but they helped us with our ala-carte choice. ### **Final Verdict** Abar Khabo delivers an authentic Bengali dining experience with its rich flavors and warm hospitality. If you're looking for comfort food on a rainy day (or any day!), this place is a must-visit. **5/5 – Highly recommended!** A perfect rainy Sunday spent in the heart of Bengal! Will definitely visit again.

Authentic Bengali Delights in Gurugram I recently visited a Bengali restaurant in Gurugram, and it turned out to be a delightful experience! The flavors were remarkably close to authentic Bengali cuisine, and every dish seemed to carry the essence of Bengal’s rich culinary heritage. The Shorshe Ilish was a standout, perfectly cooked with a well-balanced mustard gravy. The Luchi and Kosha Mangsho took me straight back to festive family meals, with the soft, flaky luchis and the rich, flavorful mutton curry. The Chingri Malai Curry was creamy and aromatic, with fresh prawns cooked to perfection. Even the simpler dishes like Shukto and Beguni were executed with care, capturing the authentic home-cooked feel. To end on a sweet note, the Mishti Doi and Rosogolla were just the right amount of sweet, a perfect finish to the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant also added to the charm, with subtle touches of Bengali culture in the decor. The staff were warm, welcoming, and happy to recommend dishes to suit our preferences. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Bengali food in Gurugram. I’ll definitely be returning to relive the flavors of home!
