DoubleTree by Hilton Gurugram Baani Square — Hotel in Gurugram District

The Hotel is located in a convenient area of Gurgaon, but this is definitely not a five star property and is not maintained well like other Hilton hotels. As a Hilton status member I have found the room standards of this particular hotel to be quite low in comparison to other Hilton hotels, even those in less privileged countries.

I upgraded to a suite, but the suite was pretty disappointing. The couches had stains all over them. The refrigerator was not working, and the towels looked old and half worn and I was questioning whether they were really washed or not. Also, I had booked for three people, but they did not have enough towels for three people. You would think that that they had some sort of quality check before or allowing their guests to come in to a room let alone a suite. Even though this was a non-smoking room, it had a slight smoke and damp stench everywhere. We came in late night, so I , tried to get a few things resolved, but was just too tired to deal with anything else. The next day we were very busy trying to get some things done for we were only in the area for three nights, so I did not want to spend time dealing with a complaint to the manager and and discussing everything wrong with the room. I thought calling the front desk about 10 issues upon checking in would have started something but apparently everything was forgotten afterwards. All I can say is that it was such a disappointment and having my eighty seven-year-old mother with me and I myself being a bit immune compromised— we felt very uncomfortable staying in this property.

Also, I booked a long stay package which was to include free few places of laundry, which is clearly stated in the package and when I asked the hotel front desk staff about it they said that there was no such thing. Even though I had it on my reservation for some reason, all of a sudden everything disappeared. But the long stay packaged is advertised with some pieces of laundry included as well as breakfast.

Not sure what’s going on, but it just seemed kind of shady.

The Restaurant food was OK. The servers were very nice and went out of their way to help you but can’t say much good about the actual hotel. They really need to improve the standard of cleanliness and presentation in terms of their rooms to be calling themselves a Hilton and especially if they are calling themselves a “five star” hotel, which they’re not even close to. This would be rated as a three star...
