So this visit turned out to be a love and hate relationship with China Garden and hate won over love for sure. I have all my love and heart for the excellent quality and taste of food that got served. We ordered Chicken n Chives dimsum, veg salt and pepper, and crispy tossed fish in chilly basil sauce. Food was cooked to perfection and I loved the flavours and the freshness. Full marks to the guys in the kitchen. Now comes the hate relationship - horrible and one of the slowest service I have ever witnessed at a dining restaurant. Servers had to be called multiple times to get the menu, they got the food menu after a few requests and then the beverage menu took another few requests before it arrived. Servers seemed confused as they were mixing orders and got someone else's order to us which we had to surely decline and we sent it back. Looking at the slow service (surely we were half full with good quality and quantity of starters) we decided to skip the main course and order for the dessert. Again the dessert menu reached us after a few reminders, we ordered for ice cream with date pan cakes which never reached our table even after waiting for around 30-35 minutes. Mr Balwant who was taking the order and attending to our table kept assuring that it will soon be reaching the table to delight our taste buds and fill in our half empty stomach. Multiple reminders went waste and the dessert never made way to the table We asked Mr Balwant to cancel this dessert order to which he immediately agreed and got us the bill as we asked for the same. Seems like the ice cream and pancake didn't even see the chefs hands in the kitchen, forget about it getting served. On being politely asked to Balwant Ji about the delay he mentioned sir pancake bannane mein time lagta hai. Pepper Chicken was a disaster. It is a testament to misleading name. It's Not Pepper Chicken but Chicken Pakoda - had they called it that, yes the honesty would be appreciated.
Ginger (veg) fried rice was very good and Had sufficient quantity. Sapo Chicken was decent cooked and could have done with slightly more quantity.
The unfortunate part is the bill for these 3 together comes round Rs. 2,000. But that's nearly 25% extra charge for little to no jump in quality of food offered here.
There are at least 5 Chinese restaurants in and around Gurgaon who offer similar quality food at a 25% low price.
Suggestion is simple to the Management - Reduce the rental cost, reduce the food price. Else improve the quality to suit the price......

Edit dated 26th June - I wish rather than using the phrase "grossly misplaced" just to prove a point, work on your pricing and product quality please. You offer premium pricing but Not premium quality. Sorry but it's truth - work on quality deliver better food for the price you offer. But had a bad experience in sister joint China Garden, Gurgaon, Delhi my last few trip. Terrible customer service. The front desk old lady had an attitude issue. I see everyone on the floor are indulge talking and flirting with her instead of take care of customers who come out to have good food and quality time.. The food was excellent. Getting a reservation is nearly impossible to reach by phone. It rings but no one attends and extremely unhelpful when that eventually happens. When I checked with her. Instead of apologizing I was told the phone doesn't work most of the time. I have to jump in walk-in everytime. You need to look into this matter seriously before things go out of hands. Staff is not serious when it comes to hospitality. Really very disappointing. She should get a warning or 🔥ed. Appreciate if owner can provide his personal email to share...
