Taj City Centre, Gurugram — Hotel in Gurugram District

Excellent hotel located in the heart of Gurgaon. Lives up to the city centre name. The room are spacious with study table, couch, fridge, TV, hair dryers etc. You can reach Taj in apx 20 to 25 min from the Delhi Airport. Huda Metro on the Yellow Line is 5 mins by walk. The breakfast spread is perfect with a mix of Indian, western, continental and even few middle eastern dishes. You would find live counters for waffles, pancakes, eggs, paratha, dosa, uthappam, puri etc. There's another live counter with a variety dish each day like keema pav, paneer bhurji, pav bhaji, samosa chutney etc. The spread is friendly for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. There are usually multiple beverage options such as 2 fresh juices (orange and watermelon), lassi, cold coffee, hot coffee, tea, horlicks, bournvita. You would even get dry fruits, fresh cut fruits, sprouts, and salad. The is a pool and a spa on the 2nd floor and the 10 floor is a club lounge floor. The ground floor houses the meeting and conference rooms for corporate events.

I do have two small qualms which I am sharing so that Taj can improve and become flawless - A: Once the live dish, especially eggs, are prepared, please get them to the table immediately or request us to come and collect. A couple of times, the dish was left at the counter and it had become slightly colder (definitely edible - but kills the freshness). I understand that it was definitely not the intention to delay because the servers and chefs are super helpful and are running around to help and serve all the guests. But such small attention to details would be highly appreciated. B: We were put up by our company. Our company had received an excellent corporate rate for our stay and I am glad Taj offered that. However, in most hotels I have stayed in (have been living out of a suitcase for almost 5 years!) few pieces of complimentary laundry is provided for long stay guests. My team would have been happier had we received that - just as a good gesture. But we did have 15% off across all services offered at the hotel which is great.

Coming back to the good part - Speaking of Gestures, Taj absolutely impressed up by arranging a cocktail evening for us. We had a selection of drinks and tasty Canapés. Sanket Chugh, Director of Sales and Marketing, sat with us and we had an amazing conversations from our travels to his experiences in the hotel industry. We enjoyed the conversation!

The staff is amazing - knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. The housekeeping staff on my floor do a great job. Once, my carry bag tore and its contents spilt out on the road. The staff, Neelam Ji, at the entrance and gate rushed to help me and I am thankful for the prompt help.

It is true that its not the physical structure of the hotel that matter, but the warmth and hospitality of people. Taj has an amazing team which is ever ready to help you and make you feel like home.

We stayed at the Taj City Hotel in Gurgaon for almost three weeks while accompanying my daughter on her work travels. The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient, though it may not be ideal for leisurely strolls. Despite that, our stay has been incredibly comfortable—it truly felt like a home away from home, thanks to the outstanding service provided by the staff. I have never experienced this level of care in any other luxury hotel.

During our extended stay, we formed a close connection with the staff, particularly those assigned to our room. Deepak Kumar was exceptionally courteous and hospitable, ensuring our room was cleaned impeccably every day, with Nisha providing the same level of care.

The laundry service here is also exceptional. They offer complimentary cleaning for three pieces of clothing, along with package options. Amresh, who oversees the laundry, is an honest and thoughtful individual. He handled our clothes with great care, even returning money we had accidentally left in the laundry.

As for the dining services, the entire team was courteous and hospitable, particularly Depeendra, Drishti, and Vhabav, who consistently made us feel welcome.

I would also like to acknowledge Suhail, one of the bellboys. He was always polite, friendly and welcoming, greeting us warmly every time we arrived and helping with our luggage all the way to our room. He speaks English fluently and with good pronunciation. Another memorable staff member was the lovely Purnami at the reception, who took the time to check in with us and ensure our stay was going well.

The hotel amenities were exceptional as well—the rooms were spacious, with a beautiful bathtub. Additionally, we received complimentary fresh fruit every day, which was a delightful touch.
