My First Culinary Adventure at EEST: A Journey Through Asian Flavors
As I stepped into EEST, nestled on the first floor of The Westin Gurgaon, I felt a sense of anticipation tinged with excitement. The promises of an immersive culinary journey through Asia, featuring Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines, echoed in my mind as I entered the visually striking restaurant.
The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with bright, minimalist décor setting the stage for what promised to be a memorable dining experience. As I settled into my seat, I couldn't help but admire the skilled chefs at the sushi counter, deftly preparing the freshest rolls, sashimi, and shellfish right before my eyes.
I started my culinary exploration with EEST's signatures, including the tantalizing combination of asparagus and water chestnuts in gan cai sauce, followed by the wok-fried prawn in homemade X.O. sauce. Each bite was a revelation, showcasing the depth of flavors and the meticulous attention to detail that defined EEST's cuisine.
Next, I ventured into the salad section, opting for the Som tam - shredded raw papaya and prawn with peanut, tomato chilli garlic, and lemon juice. The burst of freshness and the perfect balance of textures left me craving for more.
To accompany my meal, I indulged in the West-in-EEST cocktail, a delightful concoction of white rum and Malibu infused with peach liqueur, shaken with pineapple and cranberry juice, and topped up with lemonade. For a refreshing twist, I also tried the Aquarius mocktail, a blend of fresh ginger, mint, and black salt topped up with lemonade.
As I savored each dish, I couldn't help but appreciate the expertise of the expat Asian chefs who curated an impressive repertoire of dishes, using traditional ingredients and cooking methods to ensure an authentic dining experience. From the dim sum section to the stir-fries and wok dishes, every dish showcased the culinary prowess of the chefs.
My first visit to EEST was indeed a culinary adventure like no other. From the visually striking ambiance to the mystical flavors of Asia captured in each dish, it was an experience that left a lasting impression. I left EEST with a newfound appreciation for Pan-Asian cuisine and a desire to return for another unforgettable...
Read moreI have been a loyal guest at the Westin Gurgaon for the past decade, enjoying various aspects of the hotel's offerings. However, my recent dining experience at their restaurant, Eest, left me disheartened, particularly with the Omakase set.
To start, the sashimi presented to us was evidently frozen, lacking the freshness one would expect from a premium Japanese dining experience. This was a significant letdown, as the essence of good sashimi lies in its freshness and quality.
Moving on to the tempura, it was a far cry from the authentic, delicately battered and lightly fried tempura I anticipated. Instead, what was served appeared to be a haphazard assortment of items, fried without the finesse or technique that real tempura embodies. It seemed clear that the preparation lacked the touch of a seasoned Japanese chef.
We didn’t even finish any of our food and desperately wanted to leave.
While the ambiance of Eest and the service provided by the staff were commendable, they could not compensate for the food quality, which was markedly subpar for the price point. Dining at Eest, especially for an Omakase set, should be a showcase of culinary expertise and quality ingredients, neither of which were met during my visit.
It pains me to write this review, as I have always held the Westin Gurgaon in high regard. Nevertheless, I believe in providing honest feedback, especially when it concerns an establishment I have supported for years. For those seeking an authentic and high-quality Japanese dining experience, I regretfully suggest looking elsewhere. Eest, in its current state, does not meet the mark and should be reconsidered unless significant improvements are made to the...

Visited EEST with my fiancé for my birthday. I wanted a peaceful dinner (little to no music) to end my day well. EEST turned out to be a great choice in all the aspects.
The restaurant is inside the Westin hotel, which has a great ambience in itself. Will be a bit of task to find the restaurant; it’s on the first floor.
Every item we ordered was perfection to the T: Hot and Sour Chicken soup - 5/5 The soup had a very pleasant aroma and taste to it. Didn’t have the typical aroma of a Chinese soup.
Sinchuan Pepper Chicken - 4/5 Spicy and pungent chicken with Sichuan peppercorn. Very tasty.
Prawn green curry (Thai) with sticky rice - 5/5 This dish was definitely the highlight of the evening. The best Thai green curry I’ve had till date. Sticky rice went so well with the green curry. The quantity was equally good.
As you enter the space, you will get a feeling of a fine dine Asian restaurant. The entire staff was very well spoken and did not rush into anything. They waited patiently whilst we were deciding on the order.
To top it off, they even gave us a complimentary pastry with candles specially for my birthday.
Would definitely recommend this place if you’re planning for a fine dine Asian...
