Train restaurant promises Indian Railways service
Heard about train restaurant in a radio ad.. As a kid i was very fascinated by Trains and when I heard about the restaurant i thought of taking my kids too there.. Went on a Sunday evening the place was booming with new customers since it was the first Sunday after the opening.. Getting a table was not difficult.. Kids were happy initially when we ordered but it took a lot of time for the food to come (Just like Indian railways which is never on time). 20minutes later The enthusiasm from kids now gave way to hunger and the desire to see the food being served on train was peaking.. When questioned repeatedly to manager got the starter by the waiter as the train got spoiled by few over enthusiastic kids.. which was later repaired and our main course was served by the train.. Can go once for giving a new feel to the children definitely not on a busy day like Sunday..
*Food quality was 3.5/5 nothing very extra ordinary. Dish Portion was slightly on lower side( probably restricted by the size of vessel the train can carry).
*Ambience was 2/5 there was noise as if we are in fish market ( kids enthusiasm a very important cause few parents screaming at kids too lol)
*Service quality 1/5 took a way lit of time to get food and after questioning multiple times..
*Staff 1/5 seemed very untrained and ungroomed except for the manager who seemed like the single person running the show..
*Hygiene 1/5 Trollies with dishes staggered at corner. Tables left uncleaned and staff hygiene didn't give me a good vibe..
*Value for money 3/5 Surprisingly they charged for a refilled bottle with a train restaurant label on it claiming that it's their purified and packed water.
*Overall 3/5 When you come up with a concept restaurant you need to be much better in terms of ambience, service and customer satisfaction..
*Definately NO on a busy hour/Sunday. For me the only Wow factor was the Train but Train restaurant needs to pull up the socks...

Each tables named based of different city, we get to sit at "Kanpur" table.
At 7 PM we were the first one at restaurant after sometime 2-3 family came here.
Note: A guy literally asked us to give a 5-star rating, which was awkward. I told him I'd give my genuine review here instead.
We ordered: Grande Pizza Fruit Punch Piña Colada Drink Cheese Garlic Bread Hakka Noodles
We wanted to try the momos, but they didn't have any.
The drinks were okay, not that great. They had that artificial chemical taste—subtle, but definitely noticeable.
I'm not usually a fan of garlic bread, so I didn't like it much. But I think it's okay for those who do. (We got that served on train)
The pizza was fresh and the crust was puffy and thick, but it wasn't tasty enough. I didn't like it at all.
The Hakka noodles were probably made to suit all tastes, so they weren't very spicy. If you like spicy food, you'll find them lacking in flavor. I had to add green chili sauce and chili water to make them palatable. (Served on train as well)
Ambience: For a family dinner, you can definitely visit here. There are many North Indian main course options (which we didn't try, so I can't comment on the taste).
Prices: Prices are reasonable. We got a Swiggy offer for 20% off, and the total bill cost us not more than 1200 for two.
Parking: There is enough space outside we park cars, bike free of cost which is shared by all the nearby restaurants/clubs
My suggestion to the restaurant: Focus on taste as well. Maybe next time, you'll get a 5-star rating without having...

Went there Saturday evening (3 adults 3 kids).
Food: Decent for the most part (more details below) Service: Not good. If you like good service, AVOID this restaurant Ambience: Not very clean. Glass door is quite dirty. Bathroom is ok.
We ordered the Onion Tomato Capsicum Pizze (it only had capsicum, hardly any onion and no tomato). When asked, they said tomatoes were not good so didnt use "but we can cancel the order if you want".
Daal, Sabzi and Rotis came after 45 mins wait.
Main thing that put us off was the following: we made part payment by dineout (since dineout only had 3 seats available) and we did not want to make full payment and get discount since it would not be ethical to pay for 3 seats on dineout and get discount for all 6 (we were 3 adults and 3 kids). We wanted to pay the rest of the payment separately. The manager Prince spoke quite rudely and said you cannot make payment in two different payments. I told him we only bought 3 seats but he didn't listen and said that he needs payment in one transaction only. I called Swiggy and explained to them (took 20 minutes) and got the refund and made him full payment separately but his attitude was quite rude and uncaring. It is common for restaurants to get payment in different transactions but did not know Train is so rigid about that. The attitude...
