Kerala Cafe Resto — Restaurant in Havelock island

Very bad experience we had today when we visited the cafe. We ordered dosa, noodles and veg steam momos.

It was informed that food will be served within 10 mins. However, we had to wait far longer than that. To support the delay, they mentioned all food is prepared fresh when ordered. Restaurants generally keep semi prepared food so they don't delay service. In our case, we got dosa in about half and hour and noodles in over 45 mins. We ordered another dosa which was served in 10 mins. The first dosa had cold "so called sambhar" that was actually pumpkin mix veg in a very small serving and the 2nd dosa even though served in 10 mins was cold. But, the starter momos that we ordered, never came even after 1 hour. We paid the bill and came back without eating momos.

If this is the kind of service they provide in an empty cafe, I wonder what they will do if there are more customers. Ridiculous service!!

We have better ways to pass time on our vacations rather than waiting for over an hour with poor service and no co-ordination between staff and chef!

This place has no alcohol permitted. Smoking permitted outside only. It is again one of the above average food with really great value for money. This restaurant isn't a very fancy restaurant but the taste of food is near between above average to excellent. The atmosphere is also 3 star but the choice of music is definitely 4.5 star. We ordered Chicken Gravy Dosa and the taste of the dish was great. The quality of Dosa was excellent and the coconut chutney tasted awesome. The staff was polite and kids friendly. We also ordered the Tuna salad and it was good. However we didn't find peanut butter smoothie much as it felt very diluted. Could have have been better. We wanted to try Coconut Pumpkin Curry as it looked something different and authentic. Overall the food was decent. Good value for money. Fairly decent menu options. Excellent service for tasty food The restaurant is located near beach no 5, it offers Wifi, good food (with lots of variety from different cuisines - Israeli, Northern & Southern Indian, Chinese and Sea food. The owner is nice and making the extra effort, always being in the restaurant managing. The cook designs the plates nicely (They made the Veg. Burger look like an island and the fries as the ocean) and can change the plate as required (make it vegan and such). We have eaten there 7 times - after drinking excellent mango juice...
