“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” And that’s exactly what stayed with me after visiting Embassy. On my recent trip to Shimla, I began my day there — a black coffee, a chocolate chip cookie, a milk coffee for my uncle and the comforting idea of revisiting an old classic café. But what should’ve been a warm moment turned unexpectedly bitter. When I mentioned wanting to explore another local bakery, the gentleman serving us dismissed it harshly, going on to make condescending remarks about how villagers go for that garbage and how he wouldn’t take requests from such people. He wanted me to buy what he was suggesting but by then I honestly didn’t even want to consume what I had ordered. I stayed quiet out of respect for his age, and also for not ruining the day for my uncle who was oblivious of what was happening, but the words lingered longer than the taste of the coffee. And the bitterness of that wasn’t something anyone should be experiencing. It’s strange how something as simple as hospitality can change everything — how a smile or a sneer can flavor your entire experience. Food, after all, is never just about taste; it’s about the feeling it leaves behind. And while Embassy may hold its charm for others, for me, it will remain a reminder that no café, no legacy, is worth losing kindness over.

Title: Worst Experience Ever – Overpriced and Underwhelming! I recently visited Embassy Cafe, and it was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. We ordered a Chicken Tikka with Cheese Bread priced at a staggering ₹1200—and trust me, it was nowhere near worth it. The flavors were bland, the portion size was shockingly small, and the presentation was uninspired. To top it off, we decided to try their Apple and Walnut Cake with Ice Cream for ₹800 (and that's before taxes!). I expected something exceptional for that price, but what we got was a dry, unappetizing slice with a scoop of generic ice cream. Not even remotely satisfying. We also ordered a Veg Burger for ₹350—the smallest burger I’ve ever seen in my life. I genuinely thought it was a joke when they served it. No taste, no proper filling, just an overpriced piece of bread with a patty. The final blow was the Cold Coffee with Rum. Priced like a premium drink, it didn’t even have rum in it! It was basically cold coffee that tasted watered down and lifeless. To make matters worse, they don’t even accept card payments! At such an expensive place, this is completely unacceptable. I ended up spending ₹2800 for food that was utterly disappointing. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Embassy Cafe is just overpriced hype with zero quality to back it up. Never going back.

EXCELLENT LESSON OF ATITHI DEVO BHAVA! Located at a place were tourism is at it's peak. What this place lacks is the basic Indian essence and hospitality. i was eating their crunchy icecream when I Read that the APPLE ALMOND CAKE is famous, i visited this place. got a slice for some 240 Rs. Expensive, but if it says famous then why not try it. good sponge, less of apple to actually none and little bit of almond. this can be descibed as a mawa cake that you get near Alibaug jetty. I did not find anything great. wanted to still try something else and THEN THIS HAPPENED. As i purchased the cake, it started raining and i thought to take shade in their restaurant. just at the entrance, i tripped and sprained my leg. and my cake fell. The owner came out. I expected a bit of hospitality here but with her cold expressions, she told you cannot sit inside so have to stand out. ATITHI DEVO BHAVA!!! I picked up the cake myself and had to throw it. Still purchased a new one for another 240 rs. to try it out. Because-- EVEN IF PEOPLE INSULT YOU, YOU SHOULDNT INSULT THEIR FOOD :) Thats the BASIC MANNERS. How much ever Hyped shop you try to run at the most visited area in Shimla, it may be sometimes visited by foreigners (cz this place gives those Angrez vibes). but this place did not win my heart. PS- It was completely empty when i visited.

My experience with this restaurant is not good,if you wants good quality as well as good quantity of food this place is not meant for you. The price of any food item in this restaurant is very high. I ordered a lamb sandwich and lemonade and I was totally disappointed with the food items. The owner or staff gave me a glass of lemonade( mixed with lemon seeds and ice), whenever I was taking a sip (with the help of straw) the seeds were coming into my mouth and they were irritating me. The quantity and quality of lamb sandwich was also not good,there was a small piece of bone in it which spoiled my mood. If you are foody then this place is not meant for you as the food quantity is very less and you have to pay more for every item .

The physical evidence was good but every where they have pasted posters which confuses you and you thinks what should I order. The food menu should be provided separately if demanded(360 degree ghumaa diya) on request and should be easily visible to the customers and should be near the counter(ek menu corner side me tha par woh customer table ke upar fix kiya hai inhone, agar aap usse dekhne lagenge toh jo customer us side baitha hoga woh bhi uncomfortable feel karne lag padta hai, aap toh uncomfortable honge hi khud) I found that staff or owner was also very aggressive/rude as at that time some arguments were going on with 2,3 peoples which disturbed me .

You should take bill from the owner or ask them for the bill(i think they are not paying taxes ) Atlast I want to say they are money lovers and...

My husband and I have had our fair share of bad cafe experiences, and we ourselves run a cafe in Mohali, but this has by far been the WORST that we have ever been treated in a cafe, ever. From outside we were drawn to the cafe seeing all the cakes and pastries displayed outside and the low ambient lights, but as soom as we enetered and started looking around the space before sitting and ordering(which we always do wherever we go as our way of appreciating the efforts the owners put into decorating a space) the rude and arrogant old man (who i guess is the owner) spoke to us as if we were wasting his time and not ordering, when we told him we were going to order and we’re just taking our time to appreciate the decor he started schooling us on how we don’t even understand the decor and vibe, making us feel like we don’t belong there! Then when we were actually going to order he told us this “you can leave now, no more orders” this was his exact statement. When we asked why he didn’t reply. So we went kut withiut eating anything just with a bitter taste in our mouth because pf the horrible conversation with this horrible arrogant old man. My honest opinion is if you don’t want to attand to customers and be normal if not nice, you’re not eligible to run a cafe. Either keep some staff or shut down your place.
