An Urban place selling coffee near Meenakshi Towers, Gachibowli, "Having No Empathy for Kids"!!
As per their norms "OUTSIDE FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED"! So if your kid walks in with a cold drink/ water bottle not purchased from their outlet or a pack of chips then the possibility is that you will have your kids getting stopped / held around and probably dragged out ..... Becasue "OUTSIDE FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED"!
There was this person who was posing as probably the Owner of the Oulet/ or Manager/ or Incharge who was Smoking in a Public Place (Sitting right Beneath the No Smoking Sign board) next to where kids and people were eating and along with the watchman accompanied by some pathetically disoriented poeple called as staff of the cafe ...held the hand of my kid and do not allow him to enter inside.!!
Why did this happen? All my kid did was that he had a bottle of pepsi/coke and was sitting outside their premises, drinking the same. He then saw his mother so he held the bottle of pepsi/coke and went inside to call her out and this is what happened....
The person who was posing as the man in charge - (owner/manger) instructed the watchman to stop the kid and bring him out as he has got pepsi from outside. On his instruction the watchman held the kid by the arm and tried preventing the kid from entering inside.
Seeing this when the mother of the kid started asking the person in charge that what wrong did the kid do? He is holding his pepsi and he had just walked in to call me ...at this the person says we do not allow food from outside.
Did the kid commit a crime by holding a pepsi/coke and walking inside the cafe? This did not stop... this was encouraged by another onlooker wannabe who had no idea what the conversation was but proved his intellectual disorientation by joining along with the person in charge. On seeing this when I asked him who the hell are you to interfere? Suprisingly he vanished !!
All this was being watched by the so called staff of Old Madras Baking Coffee at Gachibowli ... as their person in charge was involved in it and no one spoke a word.
Suprised !! This is Old Madras Baking Coffee....freshly brewed for you all to consume. So please be careful when you go...
Read moreThis time i had ordered some pizzas for lunch for my offc just a 2 buildings away from outlet. I did realise communication is a challenge as they didnt have a professional who could understand and converse with corporate orders. However i was connected to 1 person who apparently was the supervisor and hrlped with the requirements. Some professional issues like giving a cell num which is picked by smone else etc happened but nevertheless we were able to get things conveyed. The order was for 18 pizza nd a pasta...a quick lunch in between meetings. This had been clearly told to the supervisor that the order needs to be delivered outside the offc gate by sharp 1230 to which he agreed. On the day of the delivery i was told that this person is in a different outlet and it would be difficult to deliver. This is such an unprofessional behaviour and secondly they said there might be a delivery charge???.. its just the 2nd bldg from your outlet...shocked but i said ok...after all this drama they did it deliver on time but not without all this drama before. Overall the food was good,sm pizzas were ovdrloaded eith toppings but good with taste. Overall a 3 star experience because of the ordering process else i wld hv given a 4 start. The cafe needs to umderstand the diff between taking individual orders vs bulk corporate orders. Hopefully this will get sorted soon as i do love this cafe for my coffee n bagels. Cheers...
Read moreI've been going to this place for over a year, since the lockdown relaxed. A morning cuppa at OMBC after our walks had become a ritual. We would usually return with a loaf of their popular breads. I went back there after a short break this week and was aghast at their drop in quality.
We ordered cream cheese bagel and a spinach omelette with cappuccinos. The jalapeño bagel was super hard with no jalapeños in sight, not even a mild flavor. The croissant accompanying the omelette was stiff and tasteless, a definite indicator that it wasn't fresh. The cappuccinos were like any other machine variety. We paid 850/- for this. Would have been worth it if any of the items were even slightly good.
A few months ago we had gone for a coffee run and ordered a mushroom/veg pie alongside. The pie was sour and smelling. We immediately spoke to the guy at the cash counter. All we got as way of explanation/excuse/apology was a blank stare. That had put us off but we thought that it could have been a one off and decided to give OMBC a shot once again. Their quality and service both seemed to have gone further downhill.
A shame really as they started out well and is popular in the Kondapur-Gachibowli area being one among very few...
