ISTHAM KITCHEN — Restaurant in Hyderabad

Yesterday (01-Aug-2024) I visited this restaurant (next to Deloitte & AIG circle) with my family for dinner around 8:00 pm

It was utterly disappointing 😞

Food was tasteless and bland

Lot of flies, when complained about this, they brought mosquito bats and started hitting them

Food was overpriced

Very limited food portions for such a price

a. Mutton Marag: Was sweet in taste b. Starters : Ajwaini Fish Tikka - 6 Pieces, Tandoori Jhinga - 6 Pieces, Prabhas Raju Kodi Fry - Some 10 small pieces (which is chicken 65 added with some sauce and 1 cashew.

Main Course:

a. Konasema Kodi Pulav b. Bheemavaram Royyala Pulav

Both pulavs are actually fried rice (some experiment they did to look native)

Both pulavs tasted 99.9999% similar, except both were out of the kitchen from 2 different bowls with Chicken and Prawns separately.

Called the manager and explained all about these, he took us the special session by explaining back to us about types of pulavs and told these pulavs are called Jhatka Pulavs.

His body language didn't look like receiving customer feedback.

We got big Jhatka by his inability to address the concerns, hence we left without trying Desserts as we don't want to take further risk.

Tried Istham Kitchen in Gachibowli my 2nd visit,a decently done restaurant with a Telugu name and a traditional vibe. The place mainly serves veg and non-veg thalis, along with a variety of pulaos and starters.

FOOD The veg and non-veg thalis were the main highlight.The pulao was slightly bland and could have been served hotter. Tried a couple of starters — the taste was okay, but not very memorable. Food rating 4/5

SERVICE The staff were just okay. Not rude, but not very attentive or proactive either. Service was slow at times, especially during refills for the thali. "but service is good. "Service rating 4/5

AMBIENCE Ambience is pleasant and neat, with a minimal and warm decor. However, seating is limited, and you might have to wait during peak hours.4/4

FRONT DESK Front desk experience was not good at all.Everyone's first impression is not good at the front desk.0/5
