Right so where do I start because it was horrible start to finish. We had a buffet, something I must say is ridiculously overpriced, since there was barely anything edible. There were 2 soups, one veg and one non-veg. The vegetarian one almost cost me my appetite. And the non veg one wasn't even there until we were half way through our main course. The main course by the way, was plain dry rice and some other vegetable rice that was not pleasing at all, let alone appetising. Moving on the naans bread and rotis, I was genuinely not sure if the roti was a roti or a papad. I've never written a review on google, but this compelled me. The starters were decent but salty. Let me tell you that we waited 30mins for our starters to be prepared and just as it came to our table we were told that the buffet was closing soon. (Wow?) The desserts kept the pace up to be a huge disappointment. The "cake" was dry and hard, clearly not freshly made. The buffet had very few options and was definitely not worth the money we paid.
TLDR: it was an extremely disappointing experience. I'd give lesser stars, if I could.
Edit: I forgot to add about a drink we had: SWEET lime soda. Now that was another disappointment. The staff couldn't be bothered to stir the sugar or make it sweet enough for it to be considered sweet lime soda, despite my...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it just didn’t hit the mark. The food was pretty average overall, and I’m not sure if it was just an off day, but half of the dishes that were supposed to be served hot ended up being cold—even the soup and starters. We ordered the penne pasta hoping it would be a standout, but it was so bland that we could barely manage more than a couple of bites. It was disappointing, and honestly, we just wanted to leave as soon as we could.
The desserts looked promising at first glance, but even those let us down. The ice cream was more like melted water, and the little pool of water where the scoop spoon was kept wasn’t changed or cleaned, which made the whole experience even worse. It’s a shame because I had high hopes, but overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Sorry, but it just...
Read moreAll my Sunday mornings start with an amazing breakfast at Cayenne @ Mercure. But it's not just the food that takes me back to this place. It's pleasant and calm ambience is perfect for my day off.
The best things about this place among other things is it's STAFF. That's their usp. Especially Ms PRIYA CHETRI (hope I got the spelling right). She is humble .. professional and most importantly sensitive. On many occasions she has gone out of the way to provide a delightful experience. A star in Cayenne's team. Must also mention Ms Arfana. Her dedication to service is impressive. Thank you team Cayenne for your service and hospitality. It's this kind of professionalism that earns loyalty of...
