Excellent view of Shilparamam
Review of Chutneys, Shilparamam, Hyderabad Chutneys, located opposite the Shilparamam Cultural Society in Hyderabad’s bustling Hitech City, enjoys an enviable spot that makes it a magnet for both locals and tourists. The restaurant’s prime location ensures easy access, with excellent connectivity via metro and auto-rickshaws, and ample parking for those driving in. Positioned near the vibrant Shilparamam, it’s a convenient stop for anyone exploring the cultural hub or working in the nearby IT corridor. Spread across three floors, the spacious setup offers a comfortable dining environment, avoiding the overcrowding often seen at other popular outlets like Inorbit Mall. This strategic location, paired with its visibility and accessibility, makes Chutneys a go-to destination for casual dining in Hyderabad. The ambiance at Chutneys strikes a balance between casual and welcoming, with well-lit interiors and a family-friendly vibe that suits groups of all sizes. The decor is functional, creating a relaxed setting ideal for leisurely meals. Service, however, is inconsistent. While the staff is generally polite and attentive, some diners report delays, such as 20-25 minute waits for tables, and occasional lapses in responsiveness, like failing to address undercooked food or provide basic requests such as glasses or regular drinking water. These hiccups can disrupt the dining experience, though the staff’s courteous demeanor often softens the impact. With a bit more consistency, the service could match the inviting atmosphere and elevate the overall experience. Food at Chutneys is centered around its namesake chutneys—sweet coconut, peanut, and spicy tomato—which remain a highlight, perfectly complementing South Indian staples like idlis and dosas. The menu is expansive, offering South Indian, North Indian, and Chinese dishes, with favorites like Guntur Idli and MLA Pesarattu Dosa standing out. However, the taste is moderate, with some dishes, such as dosas and biryanis, lacking the bold flavors expected from a South Indian specialist. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable, but occasional issues like undercooked food detract from the experience. Overall, Chutneys delivers a decent dining outing, excelling in location and variety but needing refinement in flavor and service to...

Chutneys, located opposite Shilparamam in Hitech City, stands as a true gem for vegetarian food lovers in Hyderabad. Having dined here numerous times, it’s safe to say this place never disappoints — from the welcoming ambiance to the consistently delightful food.
On this visit, the meal began with a Masala Papad — crisp, fresh, and generously topped with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander, and a hint of green chili. The mix of textures and the tangy-spicy kick make it a perfect appetizer to wake up the palate.
For the main course, I went with Naan and their Veg Jalfrezi, a pairing that captures the essence of North Indian comfort food. The naan was soft, fluffy, and lightly charred, with just the right amount of butter to make it indulgent without being overwhelming. The Veg Jalfrezi was the highlight — an aromatic, vibrant curry packed with assorted vegetables in a rich, slightly tangy tomato-based gravy. The spices were beautifully balanced, allowing the natural sweetness of the vegetables to come through while still delivering that satisfying warmth you expect from a well-made Indian dish.
What truly elevates the dining experience at Chutneys is not just the food, but the overall attention to detail. The aroma that greets you as dishes are served is mouthwatering, setting the stage for a deeply satisfying meal. The staff is always polite and professional, adding to the comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Valet parking is available too, which is a much-needed convenience in this bustling part of the city.
