I had the opportunity to have late-dinner at Noya on a Thursday evening, with an old friend who was put up at the Avasa hotel (which is a pretty swanky business hotel).
We showed up at Noya at about 10.40pm which is pretty late for sure. The ambience is beautiful, with the open terrace layout giving you beautiful views of Hyderabad. They also offer indoors and a bunch of mixed seating options.
We didn't get to use the outdoors unfortunately, despite the weather being pleasant as some of the outdoors furniture had been damaged from recent rains. A few lucky guests got the tables that were still fine. Certainly seemed like a great place to bring your date for an expensive dinner.
Considering the late hours, we had to wait for the staff to attend to our order, or even share a menu. We got a QR code based menu and found out that it didn't have a lot of options like most multi-cuisine restaurants at this price point but it seemed okay.
My friend kept his beers coming which he said was good but a bit flat (the kingfisher one especially) while I got myself a sweet lime soda that was good.
Order wait times were super high. They' took 45 mins to bring our dishes so we weren't pleased about having to follow up multiple times. The upside was that we had such memorable undisturbed conversations that made it worth while, especially since there wasn't any music. Really can have deep conversations here!
However once the Malai broccoli and Tawa grilled vegetables flatbread were served, we were completely amazed by the taste and quality -the freshness in particular. I've never had flatbread (pizza like) which had a puffs-like base (veg/non-puff types) that was the perfect balance between crunchy and filling. Just the best. I just wish they'd increase the portion size that would have made it worth the price.
The malai subz pulao was our main course - we enjoyed it. Good portion size, flavorful and nice hint of richness which made it enjoyable without a side. Some chutney should have been served as well.
Bottom-line time - Despite the niggles with outdoor seating, limited menu and not so great service (but also since we went really late), I found Noya to excellent. Portion sizes can be mixed considering the expensive bill. However, definitely a must try restaurant if you're willing to shell out 1.5k INR per person for a night...
Read morewent to the restaurant at around 8.30pm, my grandparents were visiting from village, so wanted to have them enjoy the views of hyderabad while having dinner. the ambience is awesome considering its open and has excellent view of hyderabad's skyline. coming to the food, although the taste is on par with the standards of the restaurant, its not meant to be a typical restaurant. the food was served in very small quantities for the price being paid, probably because it was meant to be snacks or stuffing to consume alcohol. very less main course options, alot of starter options, again probably because of alcohol, the starters arent named starters as such, it has sections ranging from micro plate to large plate, all consisting of starterish food only. not recommended if you are visiting to have a good meal and enjoy food, only recommended if you are visiting to hang out and have a good experience with respect to the views...
Read moreHad a rather disappointing experience at Noya. The food was not up to the mark for the price — quite average in taste and presentation, and definitely not worth the premium they charge.
What added to the dissatisfaction was the way discounts were handled. There was no mention of any terms upfront — only at the end, during billing, did they bring up the options. We were told we could either use the Swiggy Dineout payment offer or a 10% corporate discount, but not both. This was never communicated earlier, and it felt like a last-minute condition.
If there are restrictions on discounts, they should be transparently shared in advance, not after the meal. For a restaurant in this price range, both the food and service experience should be far more professional.
Not likely to recommend unless there's better clarity and value in the...
