-This place has a table top buffet which means the attendents will serve you all the items of the buffet on your table as there is no actual buffet present here. This is actually very wierd for a restaurant which is selling its buffet lunch to its customer and not an actual buffet.
-This should be the last choice for a buffet lunch/dinner venue as it is not value for money. It is is the worst of the RAYALASEEMA RICHULU outlets that I have visited in Hyderabad but some dishes stand apart and demand a regular serving and not buffet.
-However, the menu has been very carefully designed in such a way that a three course meal would cost equal or may be even more than a buffet. So best of luck!!!
-However I realized that is is someone's bread and butter so yes, read my review but you can always have a first hand experience. But as an honest reviewer and a connoisseur of food, I have the right to write a review.
The facts claimed here can be justified because of the reasons given below.
Absurd buffet arrangement. We are not able to see the entire main course in which we can indulge and choose from. The main course demands a buffet. Why? I will explain. My rest of the team only wanted Non-Veg so they ordered natukodi chicken mutton and eggs but I also wanted Paneer but since I alone wanted it I did not wanted to get the item because, if I ate there was no one to share the rest of the bowl item and the rest of the paneer curry will get waste. Even if we want a spoon of an item they will bring a whole bowl.
Wastage of food. Our biriyani pot was left 3/4 full than it was served bcoz we were all full. That is the point of buffet, if we don't want it it can still be eaten by other customers as it is on the community space. The restaurant is wasting a lot of food in this type of service. And if I assume that the left over food in the bowl was not getting server to other customers, which would otherwise be disgusting, it will be surely going down the gutter!!! What a pity!!!
Inconvenient. It is very inconvenient to ask a waiter every time to bring every main course item.
Deceptive. The restaurant attendant seem to be very very confused. He asked for regular or mineral water to which I said normal water, but he brought Aquafina. (Please raise a query if you also get it.) We thought it may be the normal water as in many restaurants where they will serve only bottled water to its customers. And we didn't asked. But, that's totally OK which we can pay if not for the high price they charged Rs44+GST for each bottle of water which was printed to be with an MRP of Rs 19. The restaurant misled us.
There was a scheme of 4+1free or a 15% discount on the bill but we got only 14% discount along with the exaggerated water bill.
Apart from these issues, let me come to the food quality.
The food was overall tasty with authentic Rayalaseema flavours. Every item had a distinct taste and not SINGLE CURRY Different name type. But there were some issues with the food.
Starters.
MainCourse -The mutton curry was UNDERCOOKED. Very chewy and not tender. -Ragi mudda EXCELLENT -Natukodi Chicken AWESOME
Dessert
There are places which dish out good food, then there are places where the service might be better but the really good ones provide a perfect mix of both and in these uncertain times, Rayalseema Ruchulu almost fits the bill.
Went here today and were in a dilemma as to whether to order the thali or go for the table top buffet. Finally settled for the buffet and man oh man was it good! Fiery good I'll say.
They had paya shorba but we didn't want to have it hence they provided chicken sweet corn soup to start things of and served a total of five starters, all of them were toothsome. Be it the chicken manchurian, the fried chicken, the chicken vepudu, chilli paneer or the fish fritters, they were all good. The manchurian though was not boneless but that was not a real concern to me.
The main course had natu kodi pulusu, prawn curry, egg curry and another chicken based gravy, the name of which I cannot seem to remember now. They had butter naans and rotis along with them and chicken biriyani too. Each and every item was hot and spicy but in a good way and not like the ones laced with chilli powder with the sole intention to set your tongue and tummy on fire.
The desserts section had carrot halwa and bellam (jaggery) payasam. A good ending for the kind of meal we just finished. They gave us complimentary butter milk too. Special mention of the service here which was top notch. Mr. Jagannath and other members of the staff made sure that there was no stone left unturned and made us feel at ease. They are ensuring that proper sanitary and safety measures are followed with the staff wearing masks and gloves and sanitisers are kept on each and every table.
Now for a few pointers which need to be addressed: (1) There was no menu for the buffet and when we asked, they said that there is none which was awkward as you need to know what you'd be paying for. (2) Secondly, there were no vegetarian items provided, the only one was chilli paneer and that was we specifically asked for it. For some reason, the staff seemed reluctant to provide any veg items. When you opt for a buffet with non veg as a preference, you get both veg and non veg and that was the case when we had it in their jubilee hills branch but not here. (3) In other restaurants we visited, the table adjacent to one sitting is marked out for the sake of social distancing but not here where all the tables seemed available. A family of 6 came and sat right adjacent to us. I wouldn't do that. They might not have the common sense but the staff could have ushered them to another table specially when the number of people in the restaurant was sparse. Need the above to be addressed.
Overall it was a good gastronomical experience and an epicurean delight. Next stop, I'll try the much famed thali here. One must definitely try out this place to relish authentic rayalseema cuisine and I'm pretty sure it'll...
Read moreBasically,I used to eat outside food almost everyday and somehow I missed the food made by my mom. I seriously craved for the home food . I was scrolling through zomato and found it nearby.Rayalaseema ruchulu came to the rescue by preparing the dishes from authentic Telugu cuisine which I love more than any other cuisine. . This is really a big brand and has over 6 branches in hyderabad. They are maintaining their consistency from the beginning . There are just few restaurants in hyderabad which serves authentic Telugu cuisine. Even if there are such kind of restaurants,I guess nothing beats this place in the service, ambiance and the food. . This is very easy to locate . It is right beside avasa hotels. It has to increase the parking area for two wheelers. This place is a fine-dining place suits best for corporate people and also for family. . We thought of starting the session with some mocktails, but to my surprise there were no mocktails . They just have normal soft drinks which is a collosal disappointment. And without wasting time, we tried starters. Rayalaseema ruchulu special chicken was a delight to have over there. It is oil fried and crisp enough. Miryala mamsum was my another favourite here. Mutton is finely chopped as chunks and pan fried . Also, addition of pepper to it make the dish perfect. . Kodi vepudu was very spicy as I literally drank one glass of water after having just one piece of it. But,it was flavorful. In the vegetarian option, mokkajonna gaare really impressed me with it's crispy nature & filling in it. . In the main course,I decided to try something different other than rice. So,I ordered for ragi sankati. It is made with ragi seeds. Normally, it is called as ragi mudda which is super healthy and tasty as well. It really goes well with chapala pulusu. Chapala pulusu has got nice amount of gravy and the fish in it was boneless. Isn't it the best part??. Gongura mutton was flavorful ,but it could have been better if salt is added more. . Coming to the desserts part, what's better than having Indian desserts? I really loved gulab jamun & Qubani ka meetha. Both were exquisite. Especially, gulab jamun, was juicy and Qubani ka meetha was thick enough. Lauki ka halwa is also good though. . Overall, it's a nice experience with the food. But,service can be improved a lot. I mean not in the terms of serving the dishes in time ,but treating the customers in a friendly manner. . Thanks, rayalaseema ruchulu . Regards,...
