The first thing which would impress you while feasting at Ohris De Thali is the graceful approach of the Staff, wearing #infectious smile and serving you the #food with utmost #love like none. From start to end, #hospitality remains an integral part of your #dining and when it is complemented with great food, it undeniably leaves a memorable experience. It wasn’t my first visit to this place and every time I go, the brand Ohri’s never ceases to impress diners with their consistency across all terms.
At De Thali, the guest are welcomed by applying #Tikka on your forehead and once seated, a person places himself right beside you for a hand-wash in a rustic Jug and Bowl, therefore soaking you into the atmosphere for a true royal styled dinner/lunch that follows.
The session was kicked off with a Kullad of refreshing Butter Milk evoking all my senses. The spicy version of Karanjia (Refined flour dumpling filled with peas, grated coconut and spices) and Corn Tikki were addictive but the Dhokla could have been better or maybe I am never a fan of rice-fermented Dhoklas. There was nothing special as such about the special Dahi Wada, but it was just OK.
In between the #appetizers and #maincourse, there it was a plate of piping hot Dal Baati oozing with #Ghee and served along #Churma. While I missed the Churma, I mixed Kaju Gatta curry with my Dal Baati which not only gave a new dimension to the taste but was also screaming of its authenticity. The #Marwari in me is left happy and satisfied.
Moving forward, I dunked my Phulka/Rotla/Thepla in Alu Rajwada and the yoghurt-based gravy carried a brilliant flavour. Gujrati Dal with its peculiar sweet-sour taste won me over and they turned out to be my saviour as Paneer Lababdar, a home style preparation wasn’t that great. I deliberately missed out the less glorious #Bhendi and the rustic and sharp flavoured #KerSangri.
Now stuffing myself with so much of food, there was hardly any room for Rice preparations. Sheepishly I ventured into #Biryani which was an utter disappointment. On the other hand #Moongdal Khichdi, the comfort food drizzled with Ghee tasted delicious thanks to its serving temperature.
Given for the price, the Desserts turned out to be spectacular. I drooled over the bespoke combo of #GulabJamoon and #Basundi. Going by the looks of Kesar Baati (Rajbhog) I assumed it to be bit chewy but it wasn’t and I enjoyed relishing it to the syrupy kesar essence.
All in all, the huge number of novel dishes served in small bowls makes it difficult to end your meal. I had a tough time while tasting all these delicacies. It’s quite not possible to finish off a rotational menu comprising of 4 #Starters, Dal-Baati-Churma, 6 #Curries, 3 #Dals, 4 #Rice and further a set of 3 #Desserts, until you are famished or starving for a while.
When you want to sample the dishes of Marwari and Gujrati cuisine, visit #DeThali with a heavy appetite and a light pocket. Priced at Rs. 400 all inclusive, it is indeed a delight to indulge in the unlimited vegetarian fare. Pro tip, on Tuesdays the Thali is priced at Rs 250 (not sure until when the offer is applicable). Go, run, and end your meal on a sweeter note. You can thank me later! -happy customer who...

I had visited this beautiful place during the Sankranti festival for a reviewing session and was awe-struck when I saw the thali's spread. The thali had so many delicious and lip-smacking things to eat.
To start off with the desserts first because I'm a sweet tooth lover , Rasmalai - It was so delicious and soft that when I ate the rasmalai it just melted in the mouth. Kesar Rabdi - This was heavenlicious. I simply loved the taste and it had the right amount of ingredients in it. Kadu ka Halwa - This stole the stay. It was delicious. Definitely, a must have.
For farsan we had , Phool kachori - This looked and tasted amazing. Must try. Onion Chilla - This was amazing and was soft and delicious. Kali Mirch Dhokla - This was yummy.
In the special dish we had , Dal Batti Churma - Churma is sweet in taste with batti made of dal and we mix both of them and have it and it tastes delicious. Dahi Vada - My favorite, the vada was soft and this dish was tasty. It had tamrind and green chutney on it which made it even more tastier.
The main course had a number of curries: Paneer Butter Masala - Just amazing and perfect in taste. Mini undhiyu - This was also yummy. A must try. Aloo kanda rasawala - This was delicious . Gatte ki sabji - This was scrumptious in taste. Ker sangri - This tasted delicious. Channa masala - Had the right amount of masala and was delicious.
The Thali had three different types of rotis : Phulka - This was soft and like just like we make at home. Gajar thepla - This was different and good in taste. Biskit bhakri - I loved it. Must try.

Yes you heard right, it cost 80/- per bottle as per the bill and MRP is 100/-.
Ohri’s Jiva in Begumpet is one of the few places in Hyderabad that offers a lavish pure vegetarian buffet with a wide spread to suit all tastes. The restaurant is spacious, well-designed, and has a clean, welcoming ambience that makes it ideal for both family gatherings and casual dining. The service is generally polite and attentive, which adds to the comfort of dining here.
The buffet itself is quite extensive. From starters to mains and live counters, there is plenty to explore. You’ll find everything from Indian delicacies like North Indian curries, South Indian favorites, Rajasthani dishes, and street-style chaat to Indo-Chinese options such as noodles and fried rice. Live counters serving pav bhaji, dosas, pani puri, and other snacks are a highlight and keep the experience lively. The spread ensures that vegetarians won’t miss out on variety, and the value for money is evident, especially during lunch buffets, which are reasonably priced.
That said, there are a few areas where the buffet falls short. The dessert section is often described as the weakest link items are overly sweet, lacking balance and uniqueness. Some dishes, like pav bhaji or certain parathas, can feel bland at times, and during busy hours, popular items may run out quickly, slightly affecting the overall dining flow. Crowds during weekends and dinner service are common, so advance planning or visiting during off-peak hours is recommended for a smoother experience.
Overall, Ohri’s Jiva Begumpet is a reliable choice if you’re looking for a pure vegetarian buffet in Hyderabad. The wide variety, decent taste, and pleasant ambience make it a go-to place for vegetarians who want a complete buffet experience at a fair price. While desserts and consistency could use some improvement, the restaurant delivers well on most fronts and is definitely worth a visit.
Must and should visit in your list if your looking for a pure Vegetarian Restaurant. Also, check for offers in food apps and avail the discount. This is the best in the town!
Please rethink about the water bottle price which is a basic things where...
