Whisky Samba, Knowledge City

It was a long-standing wish of my better-half to visit Whisky Samba, and today we finally went there for lunch.

The place is big, has an enormously huge bar counter and display, aesthetically pleasing decorations, and dim-lights that suit the place perfectly.

This place was 60% empty on a Friday afternoon.

I will list my experience in different categories, one-by-one:

Menu: The menu is not very exhaustive. It’s kind of limited. Mostly Indian items, with Sushi and some chinese dishes along with. It was kind of confusing (by looking at the menu) what kind of experience they want you to have.

They have huge choices of hard drinks and cocktails though.

Food & Drinks: Ordered a non-vegetarian Tandoori platter (Mutton Sheek Kabab, Chicken Tikka and Fish Tikka), and a Lucknowi Mutton Khush ka Biryani. Both the dishes were, IMHO, just good. Nothing extra-ordinary.

The Biryani was very light on spices, and yet tasted good. (Note: Die-hard Hyderabadi biryani fans may not even consider this as biryani). It's presentation was really good (see the videos). The biryani had 3 types of Raita, salan, two types of ghees and other things as accompaniments.

Stranger's Kiss (gin-based) and 007 Espresso (with espresso shot and Kahlua) were ordered from cocktail menus. Both were excellent, though the quantity could have been a bit more. The alcohol quantity in both the cocktails were right, so they were very strong. I personally prefer cocktails that are a bit lighter.

The restaurant also offered us a couple of complimentary whiskeys to taste.

Service: Excellent, top-notch service. Digvijay took really good care of us.

Price: This place is damn expensive, no doubt. If you look at the menu, you'll feel that (for both food and drinks). And when the food arrives at your table and you actually see the portion size, you'll feel the heat of that expensiveness fully.

For one non-veg platter, one Biryani, and two cocktails, the bill was about 4700/-.

VERDICT: Folks who like good cocktails or drinks, can go here. I, personally, may not have the urge to go there again. Don't get me wrong, the food is not bad at all. Rather, it was actually good. But the price one pays here, one either expects a "wow" factor (which was missing, imho) or expects a huge portion size; and, both were missing...

A Stylish Dining Experience

I recently visited Whiskey Samba for dinner, and it left a strong impression. The interiors are beautifully done, exuding a sense of luxury and comfort. Both indoor and outdoor seating options are available, catering to different moods. The ambiance strikes a balance between chic and cozy, making it a great spot for both casual evenings and special occasions.

Menu and Food: The menu offers a delightful mix of continental and Asian cuisines, ensuring there’s something for every palate. The food quality was exceptional, with standout dishes like their sushi, which ranks among the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were fresh, balanced, and clearly crafted with care.

Music and Vibe: There was a DJ playing during our visit, but the music selection could have been better. It didn’t quite match the otherwise refined vibe of the place.

Overall Experience: Whiskey Samba is a place that combines style and quality effortlessly. While it leans toward the expensive side, the ambiance, service, and food justify the cost, making it a great choice for a memorable dining experience.
