Ambiance: ★★★★☆ Tevar in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills combines modern elegance with a touch of traditional Indian charm. The restaurant features chic decor, soft ambient lighting, and comfortable seating, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for both casual dining and special celebrations.
Service: ★★★★☆ The service at Tevar is exceptional, with staff members who are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Their thoughtful recommendations and attention to detail enhance the overall dining experience.
Menu Highlights:
Kale Patta Chaat: ★★★★★ A true showstopper, the Kale Patta Chaat is not only a feast for the palate but also a visual delight. The dish features crispy kale leaves topped with tangy and spicy chutneys, pomegranate seeds, and sev. The highlight is the addition of liquid nitrogen curd, which creates a dramatic, smoky presentation as it’s poured over the chaat at the table. This innovative twist not only adds a unique sensory experience but also enhances the flavor and texture of the dish, making it a must-try appetizer.
Dhai Kebab: ★★★★☆ Tevar’s Dhai Kebab is a creamy, melt-in-the-mouth delight. Made with hung curd (have a small aam papad stuffed) and delicately spiced, the kebabs are served with chhundo jam, which add a sweet and tangy contrast to the rich, savory kebabs. The combination of flavors and textures is exquisite, making this dish a standout on the menu.
Vada Pav Pull Apart: ★★★★☆ A modern reinterpretation of the beloved Mumbai street food, the Vada Pav Pull Apart is both creative and comforting. Soft pav are filled with a spicy potato mixture(the vada is baked into pav) and baked to perfection. This dish is served with a spicy garlic chutney and fried green chilies, providing a perfect balance of heat and flavor. It’s an innovative take that elevates the humble vada pav to gourmet levels.
Shrifal Julep: ★★★★☆ The Shrifal Julep is a refreshing and inventive cocktail that perfectly complements the bold flavors of Tevar’s dishes. Made with fresh coconut in three ways, along with kaffir lime, citrus, and charred orange, this drink is a tropical delight. The layers of flavors are complex and refreshing, making it a perfect palate cleanser between courses.
*Subz ki tehari: * ★★☆☆☆ A huge disappointment. We ordered this since menu said it'll be served with theccha chutney but its discontinuedd and the menu was not updated 😢
Food Quality: ★★★★☆ Tevar excels in using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create dishes that are both visually stunning and delicious. The presentation of each dish is artful, and the flavors are well-balanced, showcasing a harmonious blend of traditional and modern culinary techniques.
Value for Money: ★★★☆☆ While dining at Tevar comes with a higher price tag, the quality of the food, ambiance, and service make it a worthwhile splurge, especially for special occasions or when you want to indulge in a unique dining experience.

Tevar is a venue that immediately captures your attention. From the moment you step inside, the restaurant delivers a truly sophisticated and inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for a date night or a special occasion where setting is paramount. The lighting is tasteful, the decor is elegant, and the overall design creates a high-end, relaxed dining environment that promises a premium experience.
The restaurant's greatest strength is undoubtedly its ambiance. It manages to be both chic and comfortable, setting a strong expectation for a memorable culinary journey. The sophisticated design and thoughtful presentation of the dining area truly elevate the initial impression, proving that the owners invested heavily in creating a high-class, visually appealing space. The Culinary Offering: Less is Not Always More Unfortunately, the momentum built by the impressive decor falters when reviewing the menu. While the dishes offered were well-executed and focused, the selection felt notably limited. For a restaurant promising a premium experience, the menu lacked the breadth and variety one expects. The curated nature of the offering felt less intentional and more restrictive, leaving several gaps in potential choices and ultimately feeling light on options. The Value Proposition: Shocking Beverage Pricing The most significant drawback of the entire Tevar experience, and one that severely impacts the overall value, is the exorbitant pricing structure, particularly for beverages. While one anticipates a premium on food and wine, a charge of ₹350 for a standard bottle of water is simply unjustified and, frankly, shocking. This excessive markup felt predatory and instantly overshadowed the excellent ambiance and the quality of the food. It creates an unnecessary and unwelcome surprise on the final bill, transforming the feeling of a sophisticated treat into a frustrating exercise in unnecessary expense. Conclusion Tevar offers a beautiful escape with top-tier ambiance, deserving of five stars for its setting alone. However, this high-class facade crumbles under the weight of a disappointingly limited menu and, more critically, an egregious pricing policy on basic items like water. If you prioritize a luxurious atmosphere and are prepared to overlook the lack of menu variety and the shocking beverage costs, Tevar might serve its purpose. For those seeking genuine value and a well-rounded dining experience, the high price point and low menu depth make it difficult to...
Read moreFirst off, I'm glad that Hyderabad is finally getting truly upscale stand-alone restaurants. Tevar has been drawing big crowds ever since it opened. And it's a promising product!
One thing it gets right is the ambiance! The place is not very large, but it dazzles you. The food also is quite good. A lil bit of drama, some clever re-interpretations, and quite a lot of genuinely lipsmacking dishes. There are three potential areas of improvement here. Availability: Two out of the 8 dishes I wanted to order, were unavailable. It's been several months since launch. With a menu that's not that big, dishes shouldn't be out of stock. There's opportunity for a bit more ambition and experimentation. Tevar is still several steps behind Once Upon A Time in terms of food. Also, dishes like Rogan Josh should not be fiery! Portion sizes are quite large! So large that I won't recommend it for couples. We went in a group of four and still struggled to finish everything we ordered!
The big issue with Tevar is service. An upscale restaurant that prices a plate of Chaat at over Rs. 1300, needs to get every touchpoint right. Especially because they believe their service is worth a 10 percent tip (SC). I reserved my table via Dineout a day in advance. I received a call 2-hours in advance from the restaurant to reconfirm the reservation. When we turn up we were told that there's only high chair available. For Sunday lunch! The initial excuse offered was that Swiggy reservations don't have phone number so they weren't able to reconfirm the booking, hence we were allocated high chairs. Only after I strongly pushed back that the 'not having phone number' part is a lie that the lady re-check and told us that there's a table allocated for us. This is incompetence at best and unethical behaviour at worst. The lady at the front-desk doesn't really understand that as first touchpoint for guests she's creating the first impression of the brand. The waiter was polite and well spoken. But really bad at being available or perceiving our needs. He took away napkins with starters and didn't replace them. He took away the cutlery along with starters and didnt give us a fresh set. He didn't voluntarily refill the water even once! He was out of sight for large...
