For past 3 years, I've made it a point to visit Equinox for a meal whenever in town. The experience, food and the staff have been amazing always. This Christmas eve though was a complete 180° though. We were 4 adults and a 5 year old. Even after reservation we didn't get the table of our choice. We had to be seated in a different table unless we finally got the table we wanted. Coming to food, the starters:
Murshidabad er murgi bhaja Malai Kabab Chilli Fish finger
Were all good but Fish finger stood out of the rest.
The main course recommendation from Mr. Sarat was really the deal breaker. The Matka chicken he recommended had major chunks of liver meat. Something we weren't told in advance and don't prefer having. Besides that the quantity for so darn poor, it seemed as if it was Matka Quail and not chicken. It was priced at INR 925/- per plate. I didn't even look at the price while ordering, trusting Sarat's recommendation. But the meat quantity was not expected at all. I've never had a bad experience with Equinox before this. But this was something unexpected from a restaurant of its stature. Hence a 2☆
To the staff, I trust you'll make me convert to a 5☆ the next time I visit! That'd be my last bet on Equinox!

Read moreI used to love this place. I have been here over a hundred times. However, since the last 3-4 visits, my experience with this place has been absolutely terrible. The quality of food has immensely degraded. The management staff has been changed and doesn’t know how to talk to their guests. When I asked the waiter to call the manager so that I could talk to him regarding the poor quality of food I was served, he came back to me saying that the manager told him he was “busy”. Is this how you treat your guests? What happened to your customer service? The manager finally came to my table after 5 minutes and I told him everything that I was disappointed in. He made no effort in showing any signs of respect and acted like he didn’t care. He didn’t even apologize. He said “you can do whatever you want to do. I’ll let the chef know that the food was bad. About the other things, I don’t really care.” I am very disappointed with the overall quality of service...

Visited Equinox on a weekday, drawn by its promise of fine dining featuring dishes from Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia. Here’s what we indulged in:
🍄 Mushroom & Vegetable Crispies – delightfully crunchy. 🍤 Prawn Tempura with Chili Oil – a perfect blend of crispiness and spice. 🌶️ Chilly Chicken – flavorful and well-cooked. 🍜 Tori Paiten Ramen – comforting chicken ramen with rich flavors.
The dishes were fresh and beautifully prepared. The ambiance is spacious, well-lit, and perfect for a relaxed dining experience. While the service was a bit slow, it was thoughtful and attentive.
Note: This place is on the pricier side, so be ready for a premium dining bill. Overall, a great spot to explore diverse Asian flavors in Jamshedpur!
