I would be writing about hong kong and not dosa king. Starting with the ambience i can say that it was okay. They have tried to give the place an oriental look with a few posters having been put on the walls with mandarin inscription. The ambience overall isn't stunning but also isn't the worst out there. Coming to the food. I ordered hot n sour chicken soup for starters. The soup i would say was quite good. The flavours weren't over the top. It wasn't fiery but at the same time wasn't dull. It gave just the right amount of hit to your taste buds to make sure you were ready for the main course. Now for the main course i ordered veg garlic noodles with chilly chicken. The quantity was good enough for two people to have a hearty meal. The noodles were not the best I've had. The vegetables were cooked the right amount and thus the crunch wasn't missing in the noodles. The same cannot be said about the flavours. There was no hint of garlic in the noodles. The noodles tasted like the ones i used to eat in my college canteen. The cook over there used to make sure that he had to put in the minimum of efforts while cooking anything and that showed in the oil soaked noodles he made. But can't complain since one plate of my delhi University canteen noodles used to cost fifteen rupees ten years back. It was bang for buck. Here we are talking about a fine dining restaurant and not a college canteen so the taste can't be compared, but one is compelled by the cook of hong kong to make comparisons with their college canteen because of the similarity in taste. No further comments on the noodles. They were bland! Let's get to the chilly chicken. Redemption for the cook! The flavours were back. The sauce had subtle flavours of soya and garlic. The chicken was well cooked and melted in my mouth. Spring onions added a great veggie flavour. Overall full marks to the chilly chicken. Three...
Read moreHad really bad experience recently when I went there for lunch. We ordered dosas and chilly garlic noodles with paneer chilly. Dosas were fine , paneer was spoiled or rotten in paneer chilly, i was still fine , these things happen , i politely told the waiter to take it back and serve us some other dish. He suggested to go for veg machurian and i was ok with it. I went there with my family, my brother was almost finishing his lunch since this episode already wasted a lot of time , i asked the waiter if he can please check how much time it would take to bring the manchurian , the waiter spoke ro me in a very rude and offensive manner. He used derogatory language . I did complain to the manager and the left the restraunt without finishing my lunch. Horrible place , i do not recommend this place at all. First they serve rotten food and than insult...
Read moreWas there for dinner. Ordered veg fried rice, veg manchurian,Mustard fish item, Veg hot & sour soup and Veg Sizzle on there recommendations. Completely got dissatisfied with the servings. The fried rice was hard and quite obvious ,that it was made during day or a day before. Sizzle was half burnt to charcoal... rest half was fully dip in soya and tomato sausage ... kind of yak.Mustard Fish item was a disaster. At last some air of relief as the hot & Sour soup was really delicious. This is the only reason I have given 2 stars .Veg manchurian is kind of Ok but was not fresh. All the food are too pricey ,with respect to a small restaurant. We have decided not to visit...
