We had a very frustrating experience at this café. We placed an order online and paid in advance, including hot chocolate — only to be informed after payment that hot chocolate wasn’t available at all. This wasn't mentioned on the ordering system, which is very misleading.
When we requested a replacement, the staff told us the order had been declined and that we would be automatically refunded. However, when we checked, the system still showed the order as "placed" with no refund option or customer support policy visible.
We asked for clarity, but the employee kept saying the refund would be processed in 3–4 days. When we questioned how we would even know or track it, he simply asked us to trust him — even though all we had was the bill. Upon confronting further, he said the order was mistakenly accepted and blamed another employee, who had earlier denied any such mistake.
In the end, we were told to order something else for the same price — which felt like a forced compromise rather than proper customer service.
Overall, this experience left us disappointed, and I hope the management fixes the online ordering issues and trains the staff to handle such situations more...
Read moreThis is my first visit to "The Chocolate Room". Even though there are many branches of them all over India and in my home city Hyderabad too, I happened to visit it first time here at Jamshedpur. The interior is bright and gives you festival mood. Perfect place for hangout with friends. I tried the unusual hot mint chocolate, intrigued by its name. The mint flavour is moderate without being heavy and it gave refreshing feel along with chocolate. Chocolate sundae is also good enough however I felt there is nothing unique or anything special from whatever sundae we get to eat any where else outside. The item is named "Thank god it's Sundae" and is preferred to eat for a group of atleast 5 people. "Chocolate Bomb" is simply super with hot core of chocolate cake topped with chocolate syrup and Cold Vanilla Ice cream and scattered marshmallows. It is however heavily loaded with sugar. You feel heavy after few spoons. It is preferred for a group of atleast 6 people to finish it. Though "The Chocolate Room" is meant for "elite" customers, there is no harm in trying it once in a while on very special days with your...
Read more!! This Review will need to be updated after I have Chocolate related dishes !!
The Chocolate Room's ambience is good. The seating capacity is fine and can accomodate multiple groups of about 4 people max. Now I come to the most important part. FOOD! Any place needs to have basic dishes right is what I feel. The dishes that I tried did NOT taste good enough though.
I had tried the Pink Pasta, Mexican Crepes, and Virgin Mojito. First, Pink Pasta was the best out of the three but the sauce could've been a little thicker to give that rich feeling. Also, forget about Garlic bread. What you get is 2 small breads in the name of it. Second, Crepes was not good at all. It was supposed to have a thin crispy outer roll kind of layer covering the inner material, but instead we got a thick dosa kind of covering, absolutely ruining the dish. Lastly, the beverage Virgin Mojito was like simple sweet lemon soda woth a little bit of mint water in it. Absolutely pathetic in the name of beverage.
But, well, I have yet to try the dishes centered around Chocolate since that is what most of us shall be...
