Overpriced food which is not up to the mark of quality and quantity ... There is nothing to boast about the food which you get in kanthari ... Just normal food ..I don't understand why they have increased the price three times So far for these below par quality food... We had chicken biriyani from here and we experience the biriyani rice is not even fresh enough for the price which they demand for the food ... Overall We had different food items from here and the quality is same ... Restaurant is not spacious enough to accommodate the customers.... Simply an overhyped...

Lunch for 3 at Kanthari restaurant in Kottayam. There are only 10 seats in this place so it’s a bit small. It looks like it’s a popular takeaway spot. We ordered the Chicken Dum Biriyani, 2 porottas, the Pothu Shaap roast and the Paalkappa with Fish curry. Although I personally did not try the Paalkappa & Fish curry, the feedback was very positive. The porotta was excellent (flaky and not greasy) and so was the Pothu Shaap roast. The Chicken Dum Biriyani was superb too (super soft chicken, Kaima rice with ghee richness)! Friendly staff across the counter with a clear view of the long kitchen. Believe me, So dam spick and clean kitchen.

The food portions are pretty large.. served hot, crispy and tasty..
