Shilpa's Halli Mane Rottis — Restaurant in Karnataka

One of the first and probably only food truck in mangalore that serves north Karnataka style food. Although the jowar and rice rotti are made using a press and not traditionally they do taste good and are made freshly. The test although good does not match authentic north Karnataka food by any means. I believe It's a different taste altered to suit local taste buds. You can park along side the truck and eat in your car or can use the few chairs they have beside the trick. Taking home is the most popular choice. Try the freshly made jowar and rice rotti. Veg vutryliea are limited however they make a mean green chutney which they serve with everything and is worth trying out. Chicken options are also served and there's a pretty large crowd trying out the non veg curries....

A pocket friendly, and a very homely place!

Just love how they serve jola rotti and akki rotti, apart from this their veg pulao was really tasty! One must taste their tomato omelette, it doesn’t have any egg, but tastes the best! Their chutney is really spicy, so if you don’t like spicy stuff, it’s better you take a bit, otherwise it’s really yummy. This is one of the few places in mangalore that serves thatte idli, which is very tasty too.

It is a road side stall, but you needn’t worry about the cleanliness, it’s very clean, and the staff is very hygienic.

For two people with a way over average appetite, the bill usually doesn’t cross ₹200, you can fill your tummy at a very pocket...

I don't know what star to give, as I am "Not Rating Their Food". My husband, after watching the you tube video was very excited to have the authentic Uttara Karnataka food there. So we immediately decided to go n taste. But unfortunately when we reached there, the "location" where the kitchen vanity truck was parked was very disheartening. It's a ground where many garbage picking vans are also parked, and the kitchen vanity is just next to the other garbage vans. Hygiene is of atmost concern.
