We visited Karavali Restaurant in Gokarna as it was close to our stay, and we wanted to try some local coastal seafood during our trip. Overall, it turned out to be a good experience. We ordered 2 fish meals, 2 bangda fry, crab sukka, and rava prawns fry. All the dishes were freshly prepared and served hot, maintaining the coastal flavours we were looking forward to. The fish meals were satisfying and came with all the essential sides, making it a wholesome and comforting option. The crab sukka was nicely prepared, with the spices well balanced, allowing the sweetness of the crab to come through. The highlight of our meal was the rava prawns fry, which was crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside, making it extremely tasty and a must-try if you visit here. However, we felt the bangda fry was just okay and did not match our expectations compared to the other dishes. It lacked the punch of flavour we were hoping for, but it was still decent if you want to try it. The place is a bit small but has a local coastal vibe and can accommodate a decent crowd comfortably. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was quick even though the place was busy. Prices are reasonable for the quality and freshness of the seafood. If you are visiting Gokarna and looking to try local seafood in a simple, clean place, Karavali Restaurant is worth visiting, especially for their rava prawns fry and crab sukka.

Excellent dishes are served at a relatively fair price. 1. Parotta - (3.5/5) It was fine. Costs Rs 25 which is a bit higher for the dish. 2. Chicken sukha - (4/5) Very yummy and can be served for two people. Costs Rs 200. The gravy was thick. 3. Fish Thali - (3.5/5) It consisted of plain rice, beetroot, fish curry and fish fry. The fish fry was fine, the curry was tasty too. But expected a bit more from Konkan fish thali. 4. Chicken fried rice - (5/5) Superb. No words. Excellent quantity 5. Chicken Biryani - (4/5) Very spicy and tasty too. You can try half biryani for Rs 80 and full biryani for Rs 120. Excellent taste. Excellent customer service. Polite staff and the dishes are readily made. Just a negative thing is the atmosphere is a bit bad once the dry fish is sold nearby. It's smelly to sit on.

The place is located a few meters from the main market. The signboard is quite inviting with the words. During my visit to the restaurant I ordered the seafood thali with Pomfret and Crab sukha. Both dishes were disappointing for me. Pomfret was directly fried while taken out in a frozen state and was not fresh and the crab was of small size. The reason for 3 stars and not 1 star is I assume I was the unlucky one to have bad quality of seafood at that time. The restaurant is one of those that closes late at night around 11:45PM as compared to the other restaurants that close by 9-10pm.

Recently I had been to karavali sea food restaurant and I must say, it was an absolute delight for any non-vegetarian and seafood lovers. The menu boasted an impressive array of non-veg delicacies and fish dishes that left me spoilt for choice. Each dish was meticulously prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. We had ordered chicken biryani, chicken pepper, chicken Sukka, chicken chilli worth ordering. However, it was the fish dishes that truly stole the show. Fish Thali, bangde fry, crab Sukka was so fresh and tasty. Overall I recommend Karavali sea food for anyone craving excellent non-veg and fish recipes. I will definitely be returning soon for another...
