Amazing place to try food.

Masala Dosha - (3.5/5) Very crispy roasted layer of masala dosha with different potato stuff inside. It's really different from the other masala dosha. Chutney and sambhar that came along was nice. Sambhar especially was just awesome. It costs Rs 50. Gobi Manchurian - (4/5) It costs Rs 120 and comes with a huge quantity enough to serve three people. It was just awesome. Fried Rice - (4/5) It was awesome too. It costs Rs 80. Shira - (5/5) It's a sweet dish which is available from early morning. Don't miss to try it from here. Vada - (5/5) Very crispy and delicious. It costs Rs 40 for two vada and sambhar chutney. Badam Milk - (2/5) It's not prepared here, just some company brand was given. So that was a complete mistake. It's not tasty. Filter Coffee - (5/5) It makes your day. Just take off your day with a coffee. Onion pakoda - (2/5) It was fine. The oil tasted very odd. It costs Rs 30. Idli - (1/5) It tasted yuck. Not at all recommendable. Maybe they served the previous day's set of idlis. Too hard to chew. It costs Rs 50. Pav bhaji - (4/5) Excellent bhaji served here. But sadly they use normal buns and not the pav that comes in this dish. Lassi No idea of how lassi here is. Packed lassi is served here like badam milk.

Very customer friendly staff and not so great ambience. But you will be satisfied...

I ordered a masala dosa. It was decent. I also ordered a soft drink which had 20 rupees as MRP. But when I had to pay they charged me 10 rupees extra for the soft drink for it being cold. Yeah, that's right! If the soft drink is cold, they will charge 10 rupees extra beyond MRP. This is an illegal act and the authorities should have taken action against "Pai restaurant" for this.

"According to the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, the MRP which is printed on the product is the maximum price that the customer has to pay for a product." Any retailer who is selling the product above the MRP would be liable to pay a fine or imprisonment or both.

I would suggest authorities to take actions against such incidences.

Due to such bad experiences, I will never visit Pai restaurant in my life and will never go back to Gokarna as a tourist. Kudos for losing one tourist!

Side note: 2 other shops charged 5 rupees as cold fee for soft drinks in Gokarna.

So future tourists, beware of...

I had the worst experience in this particular restaurant, the owner of this restaurant had the least respect to his customers, the food is not at it's best, we asked the owner for milk for my 2year old kid, he refused to boil in 1st place , after we requested so much he got it done but again he refused to give it back in tumbler and our kid was too hungry and I couldn't give the milk to the kid because it was way too hot.. this owner didn't reply properly, though the pulav wasn't good enf with no proper spices and salt we didn't complain about it just bcz he was rough enf to his cook and maids and we didn't want them to be hurt again.. there's a pai hotel just a kilometre from this pai restaurant and they serve the best food with reasonable price with wide varieties I recommend pai hotel and not...
