La Tapenade Mediterranean Café — Restaurant in Karnataka

My experience at La Tapenade Mediterranean Cafe was disappointing, largely due to poor service. The waitress, Nazia (if I recall correctly), appeared indifferent and borderline arrogant. When my salmon steak arrived without the accompanying sauce, requesting it seemed to inconvenience her. Only after insisting did she check with the chef and reluctantly bring it.

Moreover, when I asked for a fork suitable for my steak, she provided a flimsy wooden one, which was impractical. To add to the frustration, my fresh lime soda arrived so late that I had already finished my meal. Her excuse of a busy day causing the delay didn’t really hold up, as the restaurant wasn’t crowded (see photos).

Overall, the lackluster service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience.

And I apologise in advance for the harsh words. It is always possible that she was having a bad day. So I’ll give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. And I don’t mind...

I recently visited this La Tapenade restaurant at blr airport and asked for vegetarian options. They assured me service was available and asked me to take a seat. However, it took 10 minutes for someone to attend to us. I placed an order for masala dosa, which took another 15 minutes to prepare, and unfortunately, the taste was disappointing. The chutney was extremely cold and unappetizing, and the dosa was undercooked.

Adding to the frustration, the service was incredibly poor. Despite claiming to provide table service, no staff was readily available, and I had to go to the cash counter four times to request water, coffee, and sugar. Each time, they sent someone to attend to us after another 5-minute wait.

Unfortunately I can't give a zero rating to this place. If possible, on a scale of 1-10, I would have given a minus 100. The food at this place is just plain horrible. We were extremely hard pressed to find anything in the buffet worth eating. The dal was bad but at least edible, the fish dish was stale and tasted 3 days old, the chicken looked so bad - I didn't even bother. The only thing that was eventually ok was the bread sticks. I don't think I have had a worse meal than this in a long time. The lounge is temporarily (seems permanent - it's been going on for so long now) shut and is sending people here.
