Update with response to owner's comments:
Dear Mr. Owner,
It appears that you've taken the review personally, which is pretty desolate. Good business owners act on the feeback given by customers rather than launching scathing attacks on how wise the customer is.
About ACs, thanks for commenting on how knowledgable I'm about the pandemic situation. Perhaps you're not aware that RESTAURANTS ARE ALLOWED TO USE ACs, albeit the temperature needs to be between 24 and 30 degrees. Please check the facts before commenting on my "tainty knowledge".
I'd like to bring to your notice that I've had italian dishes from 50+ restaurants in the US, Germany and Italy. I am a non resident. Ofcourse, I don't claim to be an expert, but given my limited tasting experiences, I think it's obvious pesto has basil. However, that's not the point. Your pesto sauce didn't have a strong essence of basil.
Please check any authentic ravioli prep. Ravioli fillings are made of an assortment of chesses (mozarella, ricota, parmesan) and minced basil - not mixed veggies.
Your staff DIDN'T ask me how the food was, for your kind information. They served the food very well and I'll give to them for that, but didn't ask for feedback. Again next time, suggest you to get your facts right before accusing the customer of wrongsay.
Well, 400 grams might be the standard serving size. But, my comment was about the value for money. 285 rupees for a 400 gram serving is below value in my opinion, especially considering the culinary experience which I commented on.
PS: Given your unverified attack, I'm downgrading my rating to 1, and re-reviewing from my wife's acount. I hope that your focus is on improving the experience of your customers and not disputing them.
Cheers,
Original Review:
Not worth the money. Went in there seeing a 4+ review, expecting to eat authentic vegetarian Italian food.
No authenticity: Food is nowhere close to authentic. Pesto sauce didn’t have basil, ravioli had mixed veg filling which shouldn’t be.
Small portion size: Paid 290 for a plate and it barely had 6 spoons of main course.
Average ambience: Given the premium price, expected that it would be air conditioned.Although there are ACs, they weren’t functional.
Only highlight was the Garlic roll. It was soft and tasty.
It will cost atleast 400 for a person and yet the taste and ambience don’t match up. Definitely would advise...
Read moreThis is the first time I am reviewing a place!! Please dont think it as an exaggeration. Whatever i felt i am writing it out. The best things were always something small and significant. In a nutshell: Best biryani in mysore for vegetarians. ( Paneer) Well behaved staff. Best varieties of pastas. Potato fries are something else. Do not come during the closing times!!!
The personal touch of manager and well mannered waiters was top notch. We were served different plates for starters and main course to not let starters' taste interefere with the rest.
We started with chilli potato. The texture, the crispness though being tossed in tawa the freshness and softness inside along with their sauce was excellent.
Next was honey chilli gobi, i was able to feel the sweet, hot and all other tastes of the spices in the dish another top notch dish.
We went on to order marinara spaghetti pasta ( u can get suggestion on choosing the type of pasta to eat) I didnt even think of taking flakes or origano seeds to go with pasta. The garlic bread i have ever tasted. Most of the places host a long bread which gets hardened over time. I had the privilege to have a round bun type soft and tasty garlic bread!!!
Next is the best segment. The paneer biryani!! Hands down one of the best i have tried. I will leave to the people who are gonna eat to be the judge. The raita was thick as anything with cucumber infused. We were given small onions which made a great pair with raita. ( traditional south Indian household type).
To top it off we have blue haiwaiian and pineapple cobbler to finish...

This unfortunately is not a review but an answer to the reply given by the owner of Mezzaluna. Please understand that even though I am married to a person I still have my own views and opinions and also all the rights to express them on a public platform. So the owners comment that my husband gave a certain review about the restaurant and it was not necessary for me to review the place makes no sense to me. I believe this is a platform to express ones views and experience of a place they have visited ( which i have already done and my review stays the same) and not a platform to engage in irrelevant talks. So let me make it clear that I don't want to continue this conversation further. Also thankyou for your wishes.
Cheers
If you are someone who has tried continental cuisine before then you would know this place is highly hyped. The food is just average, so is the ambience and you need to pay quiet an amount for this mediocre setting. However should mention that the staff treats the customers well. Food was served fast( there weren't a lot of people probably because of the pandemic) and tables cleared on time. Went here with high expectations seeing all the great reviews on Google but was disappointed with the dine in experience. Most of the reviews say its best continental cuisine u get in Mysore and maybe that is true cos I haven't tried out other continental restaurants here in mysore and cannot...
