🌟 New Mysore Refreshments – The Soul of South Indian Cuisine 🌟
As someone who has tasted dosas and South Indian food across the length and breadth of India — from iconic kitchens in Chennai to hidden gems in Udupi — I can confidently say that New Mysore Refreshments belongs in the hall of fame of authentic South Indian dining. Somu the waiter took me behind the kitchen and I couldn't be thankful enough. The dosa here is not just food — it is poetry on a plate by the chef Shankrpapu. Golden and crisp on the outside, yet soft and airy at its heart, each bite carries the unmistakable flavour of perfect fermentation and masterful technique. The accompanying chutneys and sambar are revelations in themselves — fresh, vibrant, and balanced with the kind of precision only a kitchen steeped in tradition can deliver. The Masala Mysore Dosa in particular is a cultural experience: the spice of the masala mingling with the gentle tang of the dosa, a union that tells the story of Mysore itself.
What sets this place apart is its authenticity. No frills, no shortcuts, no diluted flavours to please trends — just the uncompromising taste of South India, served with pride. The atmosphere, buzzing with locals who know this is the real deal, adds to the magic. You’re not just eating here — you’re participating in a legacy of flavour.
In a world where "authentic" is often misused, New Mysore Refreshments redefines the word. This is where the South Indian food lover’s pilgrimage should begin, and perhaps even end.
⭐ Verdict: If you want to taste Mysore, start here. This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s the keeper of...

Normally uddinvada price is Rs. 10 to 15 anywhere but in New Mysore Refreshment cost is of one uddinvada is Rs. 25 .
It is not a big hotel , But definitely a spot hotel near tourist place.
Taste just above average.
Too crowded because of zoo tourism . May be good for outsiders but not for local citizens of Mysuru.
Any time crowd is there even in the early morning 6: 45 itself.
Visitors on the way to ChamundhiHills may like to have early breakfast in the early morning. Also morning walkers may like to have Idly or coffee in the early morning. Few friends group may just visit here to have friends association. Or for the sack of some business/deal they may visit. We are not sure who will meet when for what purpose at what place !!!
It is my feeling , one can try street food or tourist may visit nazarbad main road to have common food of Mysore or even to have Five Star ones.
Near zoo definitely any hotel will be little costly. For instance even on Street the canejuice is Rs. 20 which is 25% more than anywhere street canejuice. It is common in any city that near tourist spot the cost will be high.
So it is individual choice to like/ dislike ...

We went to have a evening snack since we travelled from Bangalore and reached Mysore only in the evening before our music show, and we were not disappointed. We wanted to eat something light and ordered the idly, white coconut chutney and sambar it was tasty. Then came the Mysore Podi Masala Dosa and I must tell you one of the most delicious dosas I've had in my life. Tasted the set dosa with Saagu and the Bonda dipped in soup was equally tasty, to finish our tiffen we order the filter coffee and out of the blue tried the Horlicks which was prepared with milk and dry fruits😊😋😋 Was quite excited and suprised with the taste of the food and beverages and first time in my life I ve craved to have 2 dosas one after another and also want to go and eat some variety of food on my next...
