We went to this place named savoury restaurant in mangalore. From the moment we walked in till the time we paid the bill, the experience was pathetic.
We started by ordering hot n sour chicken soup 1/2 The soup was not seasoned well, on top of it, the chicken tht was there in the soup was spoiled, upon informing the manager ‘’he said its the same soup we have served from morning to so many guests none of them complained’’
Second dish tht we ordered was pepper chicken BBQ The dish looked good from top it was served with garlic mayo and hummus along with pita bread. We ate 2 pieces and while having the 3rd piece i saw the chicken was uncooked ( i have attached the uncooked chicken picture below) How on an earth someone can serve an uncooked chicken. Again we informed the manager and he said sir ‘’ek doh piece raw nikal jata hai utna koi dikat nai hai, andar se replace krke deta hu (he said it happens sometimes tht 1-2 piece can be raw, not a big deal, i will get it replaced)
These people are playing with the lives of the guests who come there to dine. Its highly dangerous to serve a raw/undercooked chicken. If u see the image the chicken is completely red from inside, blood can be seen in it. High chances of food poisoning can happen. Their license should be suspended immediately & FSSAI Should take strict action against them.
I also ordered for a biryani rice Image is attached below for reference, can someone please help me out by letting me know from which angle that rice is looking like a biryani rice. Absolutely bland, only salt and little turmeric can be found. No flavour absolutely horrible & horrendous taste
-Murg angara tikka I thought they would not mess with this dish but they did. An absolute classic dish they served in a disaster way. It was too hard and dry meat to eat for Also the marination did not taste like murg angara, I could only feel the taste of cloves in it. The mint chutney served on the side was another hopeless dish. It Tasted stale , one can make out from the colour itself.
The only decent dish was ghee rice Which we ate with pickle and left from tht place.
Never going back to that place again The kitchen team doesn’t know how to cook and give flavor to the dishes. The service staff have zero guest skills. Value for money is zero, because u pay for something that u can’t eat. Road side dhabas are far better in terms of everything compared to this restaurant Seating chairs are wobbly and makes noises while u adjust yourself when you sit. It gives a notion that it can break anytime while u are...
Read moreWanted to refresh my Bangalore Savoury moments, so took my Mrs for lunch. I was really surprised with the smell. I'm not joking, it smelt like a public toilet. Piss stench no matter where we sat. The aesthetics has been done well so no complains with that. The staff is courteous and the manager had a welcoming approach. No dramas there.
When it comes to food I didn’t want to stick to the same Al faham. We tried the middle eastern olive salad - too salty and had cheese(seriously???), humus with kubus - not bad, mutton mughlai biryani - mutton was undercooked bland and Iffa Dajaaj (basically grilled marinated chicken breast with salads - Star of the lunch.
One complaint with the staff is they try to over sell their dishes in terms of quantity. if they tell you to buy a medium quantity dish, stick to quarter or anything less than that. The portions they serve is quite large and will serve 2 at least. There is Hummus in almost every middle eastern starter so don’t order seperate hummus. Waste of money. The price set is average for Mangalore standards and its quite affordable. So I don’t mind rating this place 2, for its staff courtesy and the aesthetics of this place. The food is average and this place could do better with the smell and taste of the food than the strong...
