Edit from recent visit:-
Not at all disappointed by the service and flavours. "Bharwan Tandoori Aloo"🥔 is a must try. It's expensive though. Just 5 thumb size pieces for 290Rs?????? Not gonna order again. But it was absolutely delicious😋. For the main course, we ordered "Kozhikode Biryani"🍚. Again, delicious, flavorful, juicy chicken, and a must try. For dessert, the waiter suggested "ice cream, which they make in-house", and when we asked for the flavours, he said "Chikmagalur coffee, and Mysore Pak". We were like "Mysore what?????🥹". And so we ordered Mysore Pak ice cream. They give 2 scoops. It was freakin amazing. Your get small crumbles of Mysore Pak in each bite🤤 and then you can also taste the hint of ghee. I mean that's crazy delicious. 😋😋
"I'm at a point now, where I feel there is nothing specific that I would call a best seller. Everything is great. I'd blindly order anything, and I'm pretty sure it'll still turn out great."
⚠️I just hope, they continue their standards in terms of flavour and service. Most iconic restaurants in Mangalore have dropped their standards due to shear ego . Curry wok, if u are reading this, make note 😂⚠️
My First visit review (1 year ago) :-
Absolutely delicious food. The restaurant gets fully packed, so it's better to come early. Service becomes a bit slow when the restaurant is full. But it's understandable. We were not sure what to order and what's great here, so we asked the waiter for suggestion. We asked him for a suggestion for non-veg starters, and he suggested "Coorg Tikka".🍗🍗 It was delicious and goes very well with the 3 chutneys that they provide. For the main course, we were interested in Chinese and spicy, so he suggested " Spicy Malaysian Flat Noodles" and "Thai Chilli Basil Noodles".🍜🍜 Yea, it's ironic, both aren't Chinese😂😂. By this time, the restaurant was full and the 2-3 families waiting outside. And yes, as mentioned earlier, service became a bit slow.⏰ But it's okay, as there was a waitress who constantly kept an eye on each table to see whether the orders have arrived or not. We didn't have to ask, after 10-15 minutes⏳⌛ of wait, she noticed that our table hadn't received our order and informed the same to another waiter, and within a minute or two, both of our noodles arrived. They were steaming hot. So I don't think they were sitting there in the kitchen waiting for long. First, we tried the Spicy Malaysian Flat Noodles. I loved it a lot. Very tasty when served hot. The spiciness is medium 🌶️and enjoyable. We then tried the Thai Chilli Basil noodles, this will be an acquired taste for some of you. You'll definitely get the fragrance of Basil🌿, and if you don't like the strong taste of TULSI🌿 in food, this is not the one for you. But I loved it. And it is definitely not spicy until you bite that Thai Chilli 🌶️🌶️. 🍮🍮For dessert, we ordered caramel custard. Most restaurants, mess up this dessert. The caramel will be burnt. I Definitely did not taste any burnt flavor here. The caramel was perfect, the custard was perfect and that cherry on top looked cute. It was the best caramel custard I've ever tried in Mangalore. In the end, they give you a small sachet of mouth freshener. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 All in all, it will be my new favorite restaurant in Mangalore. Not at all...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Curry Wok – Best Food in Mangalore!
As someone from Mumbai, I honestly did not expect to find food in Mangalore that not only matches but even surpasses the Mumbai taste – but The Curry Wok proved me wrong. This place is an absolute gem! 💎
The first thing that stood out was the paneer – it’s imported straight from Bombay (as the owner proudly shared), and you can taste the difference instantly. Soft, fresh, and top-notch quality – truly some of the best paneer I’ve ever had in my entire life.
Here’s what we tried, and every dish was a winner: Papad with Mint Chutney – the perfect crunchy start. Chana Chatpata – tangy, spicy, and full of flavor. Hunan Paneer Black Gravy – rich, bold, and unforgettable. Primavera Pizza – surprisingly authentic, prepared in house from scratch and super delicious. Penne in Pink Sauce – creamy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Tiramisu – light, indulgent, and the perfect ending.
And now the absolute highlights: Mysore Pak Ice Cream – such a creative twist, melts in your mouth! 🤩 Chikmagalur Coffee Ice Cream – hands down the BEST dish of the evening, smooth, aromatic, and unforgettable 🤎
For drinks, we tried: Kala Khatta Cooler – refreshing, nostalgic, and perfectly tangy (just like kalakhatta gola from bombay) Guava Chilli Drink – a burst of sweet-spicy goodness.
The mouth freshener at the end was also served in the most cutest small takeaway packet, which added a nice personal touch to the entire meal.
Every dish and drink was served with care, the flavors were spot on, and the quality was simply outstanding. If you’re in Mangalore, The Curry Wok is a MUST-VISIT – whether you’re from here or, like me, from Mumbai and missing that authentic taste, this place will blow you away.
Truly one of the best food experiences I’ve had – can’t wait...
Read moreCame across this place while searching for boarding places with in-house restaurant. Having seen good reviews on Google but surprisingly not so good ones in Zomato, decided to give this place a try and visited on a Sunday night. Mind it that this place is quite famous and better to reserve and visit. We got a seat for 8 of us and ordered the following: Chana Chatpata which was prepared like a chat with tangy chutney; Chicken Smoked Pot Tikka which is served in a pot with charcoal to give some smokey flavour; Chicken Uttaranchal which was a tikka preparation with mild spices; Chilli Cheese Fries which was served with a cheesy dip; Jamaican Jerk Chicken Skewers which was served with a green dip; Saffron Risotto Cream Cheese Chicken which is creamy rice with boneless chicken chunks; Kozhikode Biriyani which was mildly spicy with 5-6 chicken pieces served with raita; Tulsi Lifafa Lanner which is marinated paneer wrapped in banana leaf and toasted; Masala Papad; Veg Thai Chilli Basil Noodles; Yuzu Cheese Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake. For beverages, we had Kiwi Cooler, Adams Apple, Colorful World, Black Diamond, Pineapple Sunshine and Seasonal Cider Sangria. Almost all of the dishes we ordered were of very good taste. The chicken appetizers had 6 pieces each and quantity was good too. We were also served with three dips - mint, mustard and chilli. Service is really good with wide variety of tasty food, which is evident from the crowd. Ambience is great as well. Staff are friendly and polite. Prices may appear on the higher side but is justified for the whole experience. Washrooms are maintained well as well. Overall a must visit place when in Mangalore. Parking is available in the basement of an adjoining building. Unsure of valet as we didn't find one though we were told...
