Read moreToday, I decided to try out a plate of shawarma, and it cost me Rs 240. Here's what I observed:
Unfortunately, the place only offered takeout options; there was no option to dine in. My excitement waned when I opened the package at home. The shawarma was made of very small quantity of meat with a small serving of fries on top. There were no vegetables, and the portion left me feeling unsatisfied. Also, I did not order full meat shawarma. I reached out to Al Taza in Angamaly, and their response was quite interesting. 😁 "We skip veggies from plate shawarma to maintain the quality". While they don't explicitly label it as Lebanese, Al Taza proudly presents itself as a Lebanese kitchen. The shawarma seemed like their take on the Lebanese style, but it fell a bit short. On the positive side, the shawarma's preparation was well-organized and clean.
To sum it up, the shawarma was presented nicely, but that's where the positives mostly end. The price of Rs 240 for what I received on my plate was hard to justify. It's worth noting that they don't offer dine-in service, which is a bit disappointing, considering the premium they charge. It would be great if Al Taza ensures a consistent experience across all their franchises, especially given the higher prices and enforce minimum requirements for...
