I recently dined at Salkkar Restaurant, located in Angamaly near Little Flower Hospital, and I'd like to share my detailed review of the experience.
On the positive side, the restaurant boasts a team of friendly and professional staff who are not only sufficient in number but also remarkably attentive to customers' needs. The quality of food is undeniably premium, and the taste is absolutely delightful. The menu offers a wide range of food options, catering to various tastes and preferences. The dining area is neat and tidy, and patrons can choose between air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned sections. The presentation of food items is aesthetically pleasing, adding to the overall dining experience.
One notable advantage of Aalkar is the convenience of various payment options, including card swiping, making it accessible to all customers. The availability of take-away and home delivery services is a significant plus, ensuring that patrons can enjoy their favorite dishes wherever they please. The cost of products is reasonable when considering the quality provided.
However, there are a few downsides to be aware of. The parking area for vehicles is not sufficient, which can be inconvenient during peak dining hours. The dining area, while generally comfortable, tends to get crowded, which can affect the overall peaceful ambiance. The wash area's cleanliness is average, and there is room for improvement in this regard. The toilet facility, located just outside the restaurant, is also only average in terms of cleanliness and may be used only when necessary.
In conclusion, Aalkar Restaurant in Angamaly offers a delightful dining experience with its friendly staff, premium food quality, and a wide variety of options. While it could benefit from improving parking and cleanliness in some areas, the overall experience and value for money make it a worthwhile visit.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and I must say, I was impressed with the food quality and service. Although the seating area is limited, they have built a new space above the current restaurant which can accommodate more people. The Chicken Biriyani served here is the best I've ever had, and I highly recommend trying it out. However, parking can be a bit of a hassle as the space is limited, so it's better to park your vehicle on the roadside before reaching the restaurant.
The food here is fantastic and yummy, and they offer good service at an affordable price. During lunch hours, the place can get a bit crowded, but the food and service make up for it. I ordered the wayanadan beef curry, parotta, and orange juice, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for local, tasty Kerala food.
The curries here have their own unique taste and are not extremely spicy, but they are full of goodness and flavors of spices. The KallAppam and biriyani rice were okay, but the curries were outstanding and demanded a second, third, and fourth visit. The staff and owners are courteous, and the seating area is small but clean, with six tables available. The tea here is nostalgically aromatic, and the fruit juices are genuine.
Overall, this is the best culinary experience I have had in the Aluva-angamaly-kalady area. The taste and quality of food here are steady every day, and there is no compromise in the quality of materials used and taste. If I have to eat from a hotel, it's definitely this place. Apart from the limited parking space, this restaurant is worth visiting for the super good...
Read moreI had a bad experience on 17th April after ordering 1.5 kg of Neychoru from the Angamaly outlet. Instead of Neychoru, they packed biriyani rice — and to make it worse, the rice was rotten. We opened the parcel after two hours and couldn’t even eat a spoonful because it had gone bad.
When I placed the order, they mentioned that about 2 kg of rice was left and asked if I wanted all of it. Thankfully, I only ordered 1.5 kg, along with one portion of Chilly Chicken and one portion of Chicken Kondattam.
Since the next day was Good Friday, I couldn’t contact them immediately. I called on Saturday, and they asked whether the parcel had been opened earlier. When I said no, they blamed the issue on that — saying that it should have been kept open while hot. Honestly, it felt like they were just trying to avoid responsibility instead of acknowledging the problem.
I’ve ordered takeout from many hotels and never faced such an issue. I used to be a regular customer at their Angamaly outlet and their co-brand, Kiriyanthans. Really disappointed with how they handled the situation.
It’s disappointing to see how their service has worsened over time. After this experience, I can no longer recommend...
