A Symphony Of Perfection...
My 2.5 Months Long Search for the Perfect Pazhampori (Banana Fry) and Medu Vada Ends At This Restaurant. Kochi may have several other joints that serve excellent variations of the above dishes but Bharat Coffee House has achieved Perfection.
They most undoubtedly care about their products and their customers as they send their Hot Filter Coffee In Glass Bottles, even the Coffee Giants like Starbucks and Cafe Coffee Day are still stuck on paper.
I ordered Medu Vada, Banana Fry, Special Mixture, Murrukku and 4 Filter Coffees. Each Dish stood out on their own.
The Medu Vada was loaded with well balanced Flavors, crispy texture and No soda at all. But the best compliment was the Chutney. I have no words to describe it. The chutney is not watery but firm and yummy.
Banana Fry was well fried not brown overburnt but perfectly fried with golden yellow texture. Not too heavy on oil.
The Murrukku was out of the world awesome. Perfect Crunch and had a toasty flavor to it.
The mixture too was good.
Highly recommend this restaurant. They even followed my instructions and sent me freshly prepared Hot Banana Fry and Hot Medu Vada.
I loved it and will order from it...
Read moreIt was ages I had been to the Broadway. Since it was nearing the new year, we had to buy something from Broadway and hence I had been there.
It was post noon and was very sunny.
I was feeling hungry and wanted to grab a bite.
And lo, I saw the Bharat coffee house. It was a nostalgic over flow for me and I was very happy seeing it.
It was years I had been to this restaurant. The last time I had been to BCH was in 1983, during my 10th standard holidays.
The entire facelift of BCH has changed. They have moved forward to bakerys and resto dining. Whatever.
However I found this BCH still existing and rushed inside.
I ordered the regular masala dosa and coffee.
I had a lingering taste in my mind and it matched exactly the same.
The seating, the tables, the waiters, the ambience, the wash room, the lighting, the cash counter everything, was as in where in condition. But well maintained.
I would love to visit again to re-live the...
Read moreOne of the oldest restaurants in Ernakulam. Some remnants of the old style still remains. The high beamed ceiling gives it a bit of cavernous interior. Luiz Hall, which was the original name of the place, still retains its position on the wall. The restaurant has several paintings of old Broadway and surroundings which takes you to long gone era. Food is good. The old malayalee waiters are gone and along with it, some of the old world charm. The new North Indian waiters are polite, clean and efficient though. Parking is a big issue here. Especially on Saturdays. You pay ₹30/- for a car for an hour at a nearby pay and park. Bikes are free but you need to get space which is almost impossible. Overall, a...
